New Beginnings Contracting Services

We originally hired New Beginnings Contracting Services for electrical work on a house, shop and barn. We also decided to use them for steel roofing installation.
We gave them two deposits (one for electrical and one for roofing) totalling about $55,000.
They failed their first 2 electrical inspections and the roofing job on the shop did not go smoothly. Before they started further work, we fired them and they refused to return any of our deposits. We know they had not purchased further materials for our job, so a refund for work not started was in order. We had to pay a second electrician to fix the mistakes and finish the job.
We took them to court and the day before our trial, the owner of New Beginnings CS claimed bankruptcy.
We were only one of several ongoing lawsuits.

Company took my entire insurance check gutted. My house did not buy any materials and Wanted more money in increments of $10,000 while done. The amount of the insurance check was $30,000. Everyone beware of this company they are aggressive and screwed me right over. I was left with nowhere to go not a penny and my kids and I were on the street. I wanted to sue them, but I can't find their business address and they have like three different emails and three different email addresses. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

We had New Beginnings in to tool at replacing siding on our home. It was the best call we made. We had met with other contractors and we were getting mixed feelings from them. After one meeting with New Beginnings we knew we were in good hands and they did not disappoint! We decided to go with new siding, soffit, fascia, eavestrough and downspouts to give our home a new facelift and could not be happier. The work was meticulously done by the crew in a very timely manner. Who are all very knowledgeable, professional and polite. Any questions we had were answered in a way we could fully understand. It felt like they were truly there for us throughout the entire job which made us feel at ease, as we were promised by Tania herself we would be. This is a company who truly cares about their clients and the workmanship shows that! We wish we would have known about them sooner for other renovations we had done in the past. My husband and I recommend giving New Beginnings a call!

I had the pleasure of working with the New Beginnings Team on my addition/renovation. I could not be happier with the way it turned out and the customer service from the office. It was made easy right from the start. From the permit process, to design and choosing finishes. All the way through to the final product. Her team is very professional, skilled, knowledgeable, polite and respectful. This really is an all-in-one contractor that can take care of all aspects of your job. From my personal experience i can say the owner truly cares about her clients and their best interests. It was a very pleasant experience, and I will definitely be reaching out to New Beginning again for my next project.

I recently had a new garage built by New Beginnings Building Services Inc and I am absolutely delighted with the final result. The construction team was exceptional, completing the project on time and with great attention to detail. The quality of the materials used is outstanding, ensuring durability and protection for my vehicles and belongings. The customization options allowed me to create a garage that perfectly suits my needs and preferences. The functionality of the garage is exceptional, with ample space and well-placed windows and lighting fixtures. The customer service Tania gave throughout the process was outstanding, with prompt and friendly assistance. I highly recommend this garage build for anyone looking for a top-notch construction, high-quality materials, customization options, and excellent customer service. BEWARE!! This company doesn't only do really shoddy work, but they also don't pay their contractors. We hired them to do the exterior work on our home. It was the shoddiest workmanship. The siding is all wavy. The new porch was installed off centered. The porch was to have a gable but before they had the shingles, they cut the roofline back. It poured rain into the house and attic until the water was running out of our light fixtures. They double charged for items and charged for things they never provided. If we hadn't gone through each invoice and questioned each charge, we would have paid way more than was necessary. They told us that portable toilet was required. They brought it in a month before they started work and left it for almost 2 months after they were done. All on our expense. After the work was supposedly completed, no final walk around was done. The siding is still wavy, the porch is crooked, the front door doesn't close properly. To go from bad to worse, they don't pay the people who do work for them. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy.

We asked for a quote for an addition and renovation to our house in June 2022. The estimate of about $300K was way over our budget, so they suggested we reduce the scope of work. We removed the addition (14ft by 24ft, including foundation, and main floor and roof) and scaled back the renovation in the existing structure. Their verbal estimate in the fall was $150K, so we proceeded with drawings (to include first set, plus 2 edits) for $4000. After a first rough preliminary drawing, they quoted about $295K in Dec 2022 for the new, scaled back work. The drawing was wrong and was incomplete. The quote included many "allowances" instead of a real fixed price quote. They suggested that they would give a lower price if we "scaled back" the project. We had already scaled back, and the removal of a full additional and some renos reduced the price by only $5000. Like the first quote, this was way over budget, and we could not proceed. We asked them to stop work on completing the drawings, but they even refused any partial refund on the incomplete drawings.

Writing this review gives me no pleasure. I work closely with the Women in Trades program at work, and Im a woman that supports other women, especially entrepreneurs. As such, I was keen to hire Tania-Joy, and did not do my research properly.

I hired New Beginnings Contracting Service on July 26, 2022, to rough-in and upgrade my electrical from 60 to 200 amps. My cottage is an historic dwelling, built by my ancestors 122 years ago, so this is a unique project, and specific care was requested. The work began after the August long weekend, and I went to check on the work a few days later, August 5. I found:

- Two unsupervised apprentices were doing the work
- Holes had been drilled through every single support truss in my roof
- Washer/ dryer outlets had been installed in the wrong location
- Electrical outlets had been installed 6 feet apart in my loft, resulting in 4 plugs on one wall (not only is this overkill, but when I voiced my concern, I was told that this is code, which is not true)
- Plans had been drawn on my wood walls in permanent marker
- The outlet for the oven was too high on the wall to allow my oven to sit flush with the wall
- The bathroom fan and light were on a single switch
- And my main concern: the work was not performed with the care and discretion that I had asked for. It was important to me that the wiring be run in such a way that would limit its visibility. This message was not communicated to the apprentices, as evidenced by the work itself.

I called New Beginnings on August 5 to voice that I had concerns with the work. The work stopped immediately, and I reached out many times after that to try to arrange a meeting, to sort out this situation. There were quite a few texts with no response from NBCS.

The upgrade itself was scheduled for September 12. NBCS did not show up.

On September 21, NBCS contacted me to see if it would be ok to rework the circuits on that day. I said, of course. As it turns out, they went to my cottage and removed any electrical materials of value that they had installed (which Ive also heard is unlawful, although I havent fact-checked this), but the kicker is: Tania-Joy sent me an aggressively written email, accusing me of putting her team in danger! I was immediately concerned, because my dads old friend was cleaning up under the cottage, and she said that he had lifted the cottage with her workers inside, but that turned out not to be the case.

It was difficult to arrange a meeting after September 21. I was puzzled by this whole situation. When we finally met on October 11, Tania-Joy yelled at me and did not give me time to speak, even though I had called the meeting. I decided to terminate our contract since communication was seemingly impossible.

At the end of the day, I am out of pocket $14,640.00 with nothing to show for it.

Dave and Kasey did a great job removing the existing door and installing the new steel door. Daves attention to detail was well noted and Kasey was anxious to help and learn. We are very please with the job and have already recommended the company to two others

We had a minor repair on some soffit coming down on our outside roof. We have used New Beginnings before . Called this company about our problem and they came out to do the service repair that very afternoon. Absolutely great service and so reasonable. Can't Thank-you enough for solving our problem so quickly. We would highly recommend New Beginnings. Excellent.
