I set up a meeting with Smartcare after seeing one of their Facebook ads. I got to meet with Matt about 2 days later. They coordinated the home energy assessment and assisted with the rebate process through Enbridge. Units were installed in a timely manner - we had our home energy assessment completed within around 4 days of meeting and the installation took place the following Monday. The auditor came in for the final home energy assessment within around a week of that. 3.5-4 months later, I got the cheque in the mail from Enbridge which fully covered the cost of the upgrade. Had one minor issue with the thermostat but that was resolved same-day I called in. Very pleased with the new system so far, my fuel consumption has decreased significantly since installing it and i dont really notice any major differences between the old system and this one other than the savings

Smartcare Home Services is the worst contractor I have ever dealt with. Given that I am a senior citizen who has had experience with many contractors working on numerous properties over the years that is saying a lot. Smartcare, and Roman the person I have primarily dealt with, seem to be happy to ignore people and leave them without the support they are contractually entitled to. The initial installation of my heat pump by Smartcare went fine. But this year I have had an issue that I think should be covered by the 10 year warranty my contract says I have. Over 4 months and numerous calls to Smartcare and Romans cell I have yet to receive even a callback from someone that could help me. To make matters worse, Smartcare never registered my unit for the manufacturers warranty so I have no recourse with them. Im going to have to pay to have another company do the repair and use the courts to get reimbursement from Smartcare since they will not honour the warranty as set out in my contract. From the reviews I have read this seems like a common pattern with Smartcare, initial installation is fine, but subsequent service is awful to non-existent. Stay away from them!

I purchased a heat pump through Smartcare home services in September 2023. I completed the paperwork and home energy audit in order to qualify for the government rebate.
1- The Heatpump installed was different than the quoted one and this was the first issue!
2- Then after the installation, it happened that it stopped working at one night and despite the repeated calls to their customer services and maintenance, nobody shows up to fix the problem and we spent 2 nights without any source of heating!
3- they sent someone with a dap sealant to air sealing the doors/windows to be qualified to the Air Sealing rebate and when you told them that this is not enough, they claimed that they know what they are doing. It seems that I was right and the Air Sealing rebate was not approved and I did not get the rebate.
4- I am trying to communicate with them know to fix the problem and to check the Heat Pump but they are ignoring my calls and emails.
5- This company was very quick to install the equipment but lacks in customer service follow up and/or maintenance services. Even the installation was not done properly and they have unnecessary long ducts which affects the heat pump efficiency.
I had planned on installing further energy upgrades to my home, but I would not consider using Smartcare now for any of this work. I regret dealing with this company and would never recommend them.

This was a protection plan that my parents had on their a/c and Furnace . The house was sold and so I needed to cancel this plan.
I spoke with Dylene and literally within minutes it was taken care of ....It was a pleasure to speak to Dylene ...I was so grateful to have this taken care of within minutes, more than I can say about other companies I have had to deal with .

The new heat pump along with the gas furnace is not being controlled properly and they won't come out to fix it. So what is the problem... We were away for much of the winter and had the heat in the house set to 12 DegC. Having a smart thermostat I could monitor the heat and when it was cold outside I noticed the temperature in the house was swinging from 12 Deg to 25 Deg and that was when it was really cold outside in early January. When milder it was holding at 12 Deg. We are now home and it is random whether the heat pump or the gas furnace will do the heating. Usually when the gas furnace is heating it will not shut off when the desired temperature is reached.
I have called the service department many times and sometimes I get to talk to Lucas but although they know there is a problem they will not send someone round to fix it. Basically the thermostat is not communication accurately with the heating system.
Would I use this company again, NO DEFINATELY NOT!

I have enrolled in Heating and air conditioning Protection plan with Smartcare Home services for about 4 years by now and the money is taken from my account every month.
When I called for help, the receptionist told me that my name is not in the customers list and she said someone from the billing department would call me back but it has been more than a month now and my issue is not resolved. I am wondering if they are still in service.
P/S: I requested to stop my payment but they still debited from my bank account. What a shameful company!

I had my old A/C replaced this summer by Smartcare Home Services. They did a great job and were extremely helpful. I didn't know much about A/C's and which ones were good but the rep was very knowledgeable and guided me in the right direction. Our house was perfectly cooled all summer. Thank you Smartcare !

Great company to work with. They've replaced the furnaces for my rental properties and the water heaters to 2 of the same properties. The rep was super helpful from the minute he answered the phone until after the installations were completed.

These guys are great, their techs and consultants are super professional and knoqleknowled. I got my water heater upgraded to a tankless with them and I'm glad I did. Even after the installation when I had questions they still took the time to answer.

My mother needed a new water heater and furnace. This company came by and was able to cater to her budget and get her a new furnace as well as upgrade her water heater to a tankless water heater promptly without any inconveniences. They helped her register and qualify for the rebates so she will be getting money back to help her offset the upfront costs for her.
