Bow River Concrete completed a driveway and entrance walkway replacement at my home residence in south Calgary during October 2021. From the customer service standpoint, I have no complaints the owner was always nice to deal with. The job took over two weeks to complete due to an apparent shortage on concrete trucks. The entire removal and install were completed without issue, but I am very disappointed with the finished product. The expansion joints were not put in during the concrete pour but instead were cut in with a skil saw after the concrete hardened. The joints do not look great and there was not enough cut into the driveway/sidewalk which resulted in two large cracks developing over the winter. I am no expert on expansion joints, but the driveway/sidewalk Bow River installed has only half of the expansion joints compared to other driveways on the street. The broomed finish also was done poorly and is an eye sore. I reached out to the owner over the winter, and he responded saying he would come take a look at the cracks this summer but since then I have not heard from him. I have tried all the communication options available, and the website has a banner saying they are shut down for the 2022 season. It seems I am out of luck and now am here posting this review. See pictures of the completed work as of 10 months later. I would recommend spending your money elsewhere.

We got a quote on a concrete walkway in April 2021. Dan was quick to come out and complete the quote, asked great questions and gave me feedback. Once we actually booked we were told to expect the job to begin by early August. Not sure if this is standard procedure, but we were not given anything in writing to confirm. From that point on communication was very challenging.

We advised Dan that we were flexible with timing but did need an estimated timeline in order to organize other contractors doing work in our back yard. July came and went and we didn't hear from him. I contacted him a few times over the summer looking for an update and although I always got a call back, I felt I was being dismissed and rushed off the phone.

We were finally told the work would begin at the end of August. There were Telus contractors working in the area at the time and I advised Dan of this. I also spoke with the Telus guys so they would know we would need them to work around the concrete company in the coming days. Dan texted to note that the Telus crews may cause some issues for their work but that he would send someone by to take a look before beginning anything...and then no one showed up. I called and had a very uncomfortable conversation with Dan. He basically said he didn't want to waste the time of this company coming to check out the situation and so, without advising us of any change, he sent his guys to another job. While I understand potentially waiting a week for the area to be free, he needed to advise us of this.

Communication with Dan was challenging from the beginning and so, after waiting a full summer, we cancelled the job. Very disappointing but we felt we were being treated as though they were doing us a favour by letting us pay them to do this job. Not a great experience. Would not recommend.

Bow River Concrete was great to work with. They responded to my request quickly and came out and provided a quote that was competitive with other vendors (included demolishing our old stone steps, and installing and pouring new steps). Because our house is charcoal on the outside, they recommended we go with dark/black concrete and we love the result. Their whole team was FANTASTIC - very professional and super friendly. We would definitely recommend them!

These guys did a great job!! We needed a concrete pad for the swim spa we are getting. They worked with us to get it done as soon as the weather allowed for it, they are super knowledgeable and professional and it shows, as well as personable and overall nice humans. Will definitely use them again if we have another project!

Great experience with this company! Work was done efficiently - good crew - good cleanup at the end of the job - very professional .....any problems quickly remedied - I highly recommend them!

Our patio and stairs were really shoddy from the original builder and were falling off the house and cracking all over. Bow River came in and ripped them all out with their machines and hauled it away in a dump truck a few days later our new exposed work was in. Couldn't be happier and they made sure to go over everything with us.

I did not have a vision for this massive old and sagging asphalt driveway, but they did, and WOW, they far exceeded anything I could have imagined. It is a work of art! Stamped concrete accent borders that look like slate - gorgeous, to offset the elegant sand brushed driveway and walkways with half moon accents! They suggested mature trees to replace 50 year old shrubbery and the mature Swedish Aspen are stunning (last minute change). They were amazing to work with - dedicated professionals with amazing custom workmanship. I really can't say enough because I am still somewhat speechless and in awe of this creative and truly beautiful transformation. Will add pics soon.

Excellent job, did a patio for us with a built in fire pit. Very knowledgeable and were pros when it came to planning for drainage, not only do I have a beautiful patio, I have protected my foundation better as well.

Trent and Dan were super prompt, professional and wonderful to work with. They did ever they could to accomodate our quick time line and charged a very reasonable price. Dan'workmanship showed his decades of exerperince, as did Trent's customer service. I will be using Bow River Concrete again and would highly reccomend them! Thanks guys!

We had a failing driveway and a sidewalk made from patio stones. Bow river concrete solutions removed our old broken concrete and patio stones and built us an amazing exposed aggregate driveway and sidewalks. They were prompt and knowledgeable and got the project done under budget and ahead of schedule
