Hired to repair a dishwasher in a rental unit. Came in and did the initial assessment. I asked him if in his opinion this unit was even worth repairing (probably 15 years old). He said for sure and said the work was guaranteed so I proceeded.
It was a drain issue apparently. Repair work was done on May 12 and tenant said company would contact me about issues during repair. Did not hear back from company until May 20 when I contacted them. At this point he tells me there is an issue with the valve which prevented it from being hooked up which is why it isnt working.
I bring a plumber in that I found on here years ago (Strong Plumbing- highly recommended). He comes and fixes the valve. He asks me why I am bothering repairing the dishwasher as it appears to be very old (which was my original suspicion). He also says he could not hook up the dishwasher to the new plumbing as there is a problem with the inlet.
Contact the JC Appliance Repair. He says it will be an additional $350 to do this repair. Also, had to ask for an invoice to be sent on the original repair for a third time, 17 days after the repair.
In the end, was not very happy with the communication. Maybe the drain repair was great, not sure. Had to buy and install a new dishwasher.
