Horizon property contracting

James showed up at my house one day and asked me if I wanted my Ashphalt driveway replaced. He seemed like a nice guy and we worked out a price. He said he was going to sit in his truck and write out a contract in the morning before he started the job but I never received it.
He started the job in the morning without giving me the contract, and his attitude became very belligerent and rude for absolutely no reason except that his true colours were coming out. They did a very bad job and we paid them $4500, they could have done a good job because they had all the equipment here but they cut corners in every way they could to save a few dollars but the end result is a very bad job. If you’re reading this review do yourself a favour and hire someone else, because this guy is the worst type of person to deal with and does not belong serving the public with his terrible attitude and poor skill level to get things done properly.
I’ve tried calling this guy James but he screamed at me for calling him on his personal phone so he gave me a card but they never answer the phone or email, There’s absolutely no way of getting in touch with these people so once they’re gone you’re on your own.

I have been extremely patient with Mark, lots of messages and text left and he has never returned to date since the install

said he would come back as weeds coming through the driveway not even 3 days after installed and would return my umbrella.
My advice to you is do your research if it seems to good to be true it usually is.

I learned my lesson would never recommend this company

Long story short, We paid for driveway paving and three months later I have a big hole and the driveway is crumbling. Their phone number is no longer in service and they don't answer emails. We were ghosted.

The company was doing door to door work, and we were in need of a new paved driveway. Our driveway is pretty long, $7000 was the price. they asked us not to discuss the amount with the neighbours.

They left all there equipment on our driveway over a period of two weeks. They once left a big truck running for three hours, no one was in it. they were no where to be found. My neighbour was not happy about the rumbling and the smell of the diesel.

I have since paid another person to redo their work. The new concrete company was able to rip up the driveways with HIS HANDS!

Horizon... don't... just don't.

This company seems nice but it’s all a farce. James’ crew did some work at my property and decided to not fix the many deficiencies and went one step further and delayed for weeks saying they would come back and never did. They blocked my number and left me hanging. Do not ever use this company.

Our neighbour was getting his driveway done and Mark offered us a good deal on ours because they were already doing work in our area. He was kind and assured us that all the issues we had would no longer be an issue. I spoke to my husband who checked out HomeStars and found they had a high rating. Mark came by the next day and said that we would be getting road grade asphalt (not true), assured us that we would not get pooling anymore and we would be able to drive on it that day. We signed with them. The next day someone came with a bobcat that didn’t know how to speak English. I tried to communicate with some of the other workers that started showing up but again was unable to do so because they only spoke Spanish. None of the workers that worked on my driveway spoke any English. They didn’t have an asphalt machine. The work was not seamless (we are left with a patchwork/quilted driveway.) It was not properly graded for drainage (we still have significant pooling!) After a number of days weeds started growing through the asphalt. Weeks later the driveway is still soft. They left old asphalt exposed. The asphalt truck drove, not just a little, right across my front lawn and left deep permanent multiple foot wide tire tracks. The workers left garbage around my property (like chicken bones that my dogs brought up later from both ends!) And the owners hung out in their truck all day not dressed to work but dressed to spend the money from the check that they bully us for a good part of the day. I’m not exaggerating when I say they hung out in their truck waiting for the check even though it says on the contract “All work to be paid in full upon completion.” They were not here to work! They didn’t instruct their employees at all. But they were there the whole day. So they didn’t stop the trucking driving across my front lawn 100 feet of tire marks back and forth! We paid them just as the job was finishing. We were given a hand written guarantee for three years against any issues like pooling and cracking which is what we are left with less than a month in. We have tried getting a hold of this company a number of ways with no communication. In fact they blocked our number. We have been ghosted! DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Mark and his crew from Horizon were terrific. Mark was easy to deal with and quickly assessed the job and quoted it for us. We got a large driveway and lane beside our house replaced (beyond the fence in this picture). His crew worked like a well oiled machine to break up and remove cracked concrete and replace it with an interlocking stone surface. They took great care to regrade, level and compact the area then fill it with limestone screening and do it again. The communication with them was clear and responsive. They delivered what they promised and took care of all aspects of the job leaving us with a great looking driveway that has motivated lots of compliments from our neighbours. Clean, knowledgeable, courteous, professional, fast. I’m very happy to recommend this team.

Our backyard was a messy dirty neglected. We decided to fix it up with a natural stone. Mark gave a very reasonable quote and we jumped on it. His crew showed up and worked really well together. They levelled the yard, planned the layout, and then made a base, added the limestone, and finished with screening. They finished the job with extra touches that I wouldn't have expected and cleaned up afterwards. The result is better than we hoped. I would recommend this company to anyone.

James redesigned my backyard with interlocking stone, stone planters and a bigger garden space. So pleased with the result. I was impressed with how quickly they could start the job, they completed the project on time and on budget. This project had added complexity because the only access to the yard was through the house. The crew was delicate and tidy moving materials through the house, no damage to walls or furniture. They were professional, worked 4 full days to get the job done asap and went the extra mile.

High recommend the team they did some interlock repairs on my driveway and back patio did a fantastic Job explain clearing throughout the project. I will be using them again thanks
