Simply Elegant Home Furnishings No Longer In Business

I recently moved into a new condo, and needed to buy a smaller size bedframe to fit my new bedroom better. I went back to Simply Elegant, where I purchased my original bed and night tables. Lucy, who is the store owner, helped me pick out a nice bedframe that matched my original night tables. and on the same day, I also found a gorgeous new Serta mattress I had to have for my new place. It was a spring-free mattress, one of the new 2012 models, and it felt absolutely amazing. Everything was delivered one week later, and my wife and I are now very happy with our new bedroom.

A warning to anyone thinking of ordering from this store, please dont. I ordered a lot of items from Lucy in eglington only to find out she had forged a contract in my name on a product I had never ordered. The service is so bad and they are desperate for business that she performed an illegal activity. I am now taking her to court. Customers beware of this store

Its not every day that people share a story about a mattress store. All I wanted to say is how much fun my kids had shopping, I thought we were going to get kicked out. But Craig was kind enough to let my kids be while I shopped for beds for them. They got to lay down and pick the one they like the best, now only if they could fall asleep when I want them to.

Thank you Simply Elegant. I have never had a good sleep as I do know with my new mattress. Some days it is tough to get out of bed because it is so comfortable. I have you to thank.

I felt really bad about having to return the first mattress, it was totally my fault that I insisted on getting it but I just needed a softer one. Simply Elegant made the whole process so pain free and quickly got me a replacement that is oh so good! I am sleeping like a baby now. No more tossing and turning for me to find that comfort spot. This whole new mattress is oh so comfortable. Thank you for your patience and understanding and your terrific service and mattress!!!

Bought a beautiful dining room set, including an 84" table and six leather covered chairs last week from Simply Elegant.
After shopping around quite a bit, my wife and I have decided to purchase our dining room st from Craig and his staff. This was the only store we could find real solid wood at such a reasonable price! We were sick and tiered from "fake" Ikea style, low quality dining sets and wanted a product that will last for years. Therefore we were happy to find what we wanted at Simply Elegant for a really good price. We were also surprised to find out that the whole set was made in Canada and it felt good to know that we helped local businesses.

We highly recommend to check out Simply Elegant next time you are shopping for furniture.

I purchased a mattress last week from Simply Elegant. The sales representative (Fred) at the Briddlewood location was very kind in explaining the different varieties they have at the store and helped me to arrive at a decision. I actually liked the collections they had. The highlight there was the 'Sealy' mattress on sale for $299. Unfortunately, it was sold out when Fred called to check the inventory :(

Anyways, he took me through the other mattresses priced similar and I ended up choosing the 'Orthopedic Plush - Queen size mattress' priced@299. I asked him about the warranty and he said the mattress comes with a standard 10 year warranty and when asked about the details, he explained to me that, the warranty covers any sag more than 1.5 inches or if there is any noise, fabric split open, coils protruding etc.

I was happy with the purchase - the total bill (with taxes and delivery charges) came up to $366. I paid it right away & got the mattress delivered the next day itself!! I have no complaints about the delivery or questions if the mattress is new or not. Now, here is where my problem started - there is no warranty card associated with the mattress.

I went back a couple of days back and told my concern to the sales guy, he said that the owner is not around and he will give me a call back. I have been waiting for the call :(:( In the mean time I wrote this concern to the link available at their website info@simplyelegant.ca, and got a negative response. The explanation given by someone named Jack implied that my mattress is not covered by the manufacturer warranty as I did not buy a box-spring & frame from them. I am totally disappointed with this response. If this is the condition behind warranty, I would not have bought the mattress AT ALL. I feel like, I have been mislead by the sales guy in order to complete the sale.

Simply Elegant, Please be FAIR! Please keep your words, I just want my mattress to be covered by a warranty and I will be a totally satisfied customer.

UPDATE ON MAR31 - I got a reply from Simply elegant explaining that the warranty is valid on my mattress though I did not buy the boxspring & frame and that they would co-ordinate with the manufacturer in case required in future. I am relieved, finally!!! I am satisfied with my purchase and would recommend Simply elegant to anyone who happens to read this review...
