Once again I hired Larry at Pool Buoy. He came through again for me with great service and attention to detail. Larry helped restore the steel walls of my older, in-ground pool, install new coping, new liner, new skimmer, new return jets and run brand new lines. Once again, I wholeheartedly recommend Larry for all your pool needs. He is honest, prompt, efficient and communicates with you every step of the way.

Brendan and the whole company are top notch. Brendan had to make 3 trips due to some minor issues but he did it all within a short time frame and would settle on nothing but the best workmanship. He is a true top notch person with great work ethic. He also will explain everything to you and you get your input when needed to help make the project exactly what you want. My home looks great at night now and I was very happy dealing with Lighting Innovation & Design and would again in a heartbeat.

Bought pool salt water system here and have to say it has made all the difference in the world for the quality of swimming. Pool Discounters has great prices on pool equipment and supplies and is usually the only place I go to now for equipment and supplies.

When we moved in decided not to go with the $34.99 a month pushing company that previous owners used. Found The Monitoring Centre and for $9.99 a month (first 3 years then $12.99 a month) they provide the same great service. Bought my own equipment so never have to worry about being locked in a contract. The only contract for The Monitoring Centre is that you pay one year at a time. Happy with their service. Just wish they would not require me to have a home phone but that is the same with most companies.

Brock Doors and Windows installed new North Star Windows and a Dorplex Fibreglass Door. There were some issues but in the end they were dealt with to my satisfaction by the Brock Service Department. I am very happy with the end product and would recommend Brock Doors and Windows to others.

My outside faucet was leaking so I found Matthew on Homestars. He said he could come in a couple days. His work is top notch and his pricing is very reasonable. I did not know that I did not have a water regulator on/off tap inside to control the flow to the outside tap. He was kind enough to notice and put one on as well as the outside tap. Now I can completely shut off water to the outside tap thus avoiding any frozen pipes plus my new outside tap is great (no more leaks!) Would recommend Matthew!

I wanted to move away from backwashing my pool every week. Contacted Larry and he suggested I try a cartridge pool filter. He installed it and it is great! Much less maintenance than before with the old sand filter that required backwashing. Would recommend Larry and Pool Buoy for your pool needs!

Kevin and his team did a great job removing a large, dead tree from my property and a stump as well. They are fast and efficient and were the lowest quote I received.

Moe once again came through for me. It was a bit more expensive than originally quoted (due to parts and time to get them) but the system is working great on a timer and saves me money in the long run!

Alex and Mario do good work but I am disappointed in Alex's lack of follow up. There was a small part of the job that was incomplete and I emailed Alex about it with a photo. No response. Then I called him and he assured he would get to it the next week. Well, no response again and no response to emails even when I noted that I did not want to leave any negative review. I had even asked him if I should just take of it myself and he said "No, I will take care of it." It was strange that you get a response asking for a quote via email right away but no response about completed and paid for jobs. Unfortunately, even though this was a small detail, it showed the lack of follow up. This was also noted from a friend whom I recommended Alex to and used for a fence around his home. I didn't believe it until I found out myself. Toronto Fence does good work but don't expect any follow up of issues. This worries me moving forward if I ever had any issues with the fence/gates. I also found large pieces of wood in my garden and metal pieces of the old fence/gate in my garden and surrounding areas. These should have been removed and taken away. They are good guys but when you give them 2 jobs and a good amount of $ and also recommend someone else to a company who uses them, you expect more. Unfortunately, I will be fixing the missed detail myself now and using another fence company for my future needs. Small details matter when you spend lots of $ and are told " it will be taken care of". FOLLOW UP: Alex came to fix the small detail and apologized as he said he was very busy with other jobs. He was sincere about it and I appreciate him following up.

Joe does not work on Saturdays but went out of his way to call Peter from Antro Appliance Service so I could have my dryer fixed on a weekend. I would like to thank him for going above and beyond to make sure my dryer got repaired when we were home. Peter at Antro did a great job fixing the dryer as I am sure Joe would have as well.

Right from the salesman Sandy to the installer Ramone, Brock Windows is 1st Class. We had new Northstar Windows installed to replace our old single pane windows in our basement. Brock Windows and Doors had the best price of 3 quotes but that did not mean that the quality of the windows or installation was less superior. If anything, it far surpassed my expectations and I would not hesitate to recommend and use them again.

Tim from Pool Discounters help us select a safety cover for our pool as we had so many issues last year trying to deal with a tarp and weights that would fall into the pool. We have a wood deck so we required special anchors for a wooden deck. The safety cover is hassle free, no more checking to see if the tarp is OK every day! I would recommend Pool Discounters for all your pool needs, they are friendly, helpful and have good prices!

Alex (Toronto Fence) put up approx. 60 feet of fence around my pool and a new gate. The craftsmanship was superb and Alex took the time to explain all that he was going to do and followed through on his promises. Would recommend!

I had enough of my old winter pool cover that was held down by water bags that leaked. The cover would fall into the pool, would make a huge mess, and had to be checked on regularly all winter. I started reading about pool safety covers and how easy they were. Friends with pools also recommended them. I bought mine from Tim at Pool Discounters (great guy and company!) who recommended Pool Buoy Pool Service to install the cover and anchors on my wood deck surrounding the pool. I thought I may as well get the pool closed at the same time as the cover was being installed. Larry and his team both closed the pool and installed the safety cover and pool anchors (which is a very tricky job as the anchors must be positioned accurately!). I was very happy with the service and quality job provided by Pool Buoy. I would recommend Larry and Pool Buoy for ANY of your pool needs. He is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and takes the time to explain what they will do/have done. I am rather new to pool ownership but Larry really went out of his way to explain what they were doing and they followed through on their promise. I plan on using Pool Buoy services going forward (and I have used a few other services but Pool Buoy proved to be the best!)

We heard squirrels in our attic and had racoons under our deck. I had tried to board up the entrance ways of the racoons but they have close to human hands and ripped the boards right off. I called A Animal Removal and Chris and Ivan showed up just as he said a day later. These guys are always on time and if they aren't they will let you know why because it is very rare. Chris went on the roof and checked out the issues we had. We could have got a quick fix for a smaller amount of $ but opted for a more permanent fix so we would not have squirrel problems moving forward (squirrels in your attic can do serious damage to electrical work etc.) Chris put the squirrel trap on the roof where the squirrels were getting in and the racoon trap on and came back to finish the squirrel job a few days later after the squirrels had left. I got home from work to see the squirrels on the roof looking quite confused. Later he came back to remove the racoon one-way door once we were sure they had left as well. To make a long story short, Chris and Ivan have fixed both the squirrel and racoon problem and put up cage in problem areas to make sure we don't have a problem again. A Animal stands behind their work with a warranty as well. Chris even took extra time to make sure the shingles he had to replace on my roof where matched perfectly with my existing roof shingles! I barely see a squirrel around our house let alone in our attic. I have not seen a racoon since they did the job. We realize now that both racoons and squirrels like to "hang out" close to where they live. We used to see 2 squirrels chasing each other all around our home. We don't see them anymore. I recommended A Animal Removal to another friend who later emailed me to say how please he was with them as well and I am happy to recommend them to anyone who asks. Thanks Chris and Ivan, you guys are first-rate.

After reading the reviews here, I was worried about not getting our "in stock" bedroom furniture on the date promised. G. H. Johnson's proved me wrong. The delivery staff were waiting on our doorstep before the delivery time promised when we arrived home. The furniture was as we expected except for a nick on the dresser. I talked to Mark and he offered a tech to come fix it. I am going to just stain it myself but I appreciated the offer and it was good service from him. This company has impressed me and I realize don't believe everything you read; go with your own experience. I really liked the showroom and their furniture stands out as unique in a world of boring big-boxed stores. It was also very refreshing to deal with a family-run business. I would gladly recommend G. H. Johnson's for price, quality, unique selection and service. Also, thanks to Mark for all his help :-)

We had two wires that needed to be terminated properly as they had burnt out and was a fire hazard. Called Moe on a Saturday morning and he called back immediately and arrived later that night as promised with his co-worker (I think a relative) and they worked fast and efficiently to fix the problem. Moe took the time to explain what needed to be done, answer my questions and provide great overall service. I plan to have him back in the spring for some other small jobs.

This is our first time having a pool. After calling many pool companies, we tried Pioneer Pools. We booked it, they charged up front which is a negative and we waited for the week they said we would receive a call. The only thing I do not like, and this may be typical of all pool companies, not sure, is that you do not know the day they will specifically be there until the Sunday of the week they have you schedule for. I guess they have to lay out their routes to close and they contract out the closing as well... Regardless, the closing was done well and we are set for the winter. We will probably have them open the pool as well and I will give a review of that as well. So far, so good... I want to learn how to do this myself so we can avoid paying all the time but I know the biggest part is clearing out the lines and getting the pump ready for winter and I do not want to ruin my equipment which could cost thousands. You get what you pay for and Pioneer Pools delivered on my pool closing...

We moved into our 40 year old home and the first thing we wanted to do was make it more energy efficient. We got our first energy audit and decided to upgrade the furnace to a 95% efficient one (Everrest), a new efficient A/C (Everrest), and a tankless water heater (Rinnai tankless water heater) to replace the old tank. All the installers worked in unison and did a great job of the install and explaining what they were doing. The job was done very well and now our furnace room has much more room mainly due to the fact that the big old tank is gone and replaced with a small, technologically advanced tankless water heater! We are now saving $ on energy and also switched to clean Bullfrog Power! Add all this to the fact I bought a Neuton Battery Powered lawn mower and I think I am doing my part to help reduce my carbon footprint! Now to upgrade the insulation in the attic, insulate the crawl space and then get my final energy audit so I can get rebates from the government :-) Thanks Enwise for helping me get there...

When we ran our washer, all of a sudden water came out of our drain in the basement. So first we tried the Draino of course to no avail (does this stuff do anything ;-) Next was a snake I tried that would only really unclog a bathroom drain. Called the city, they would not help us, as we had no clear out valves on our property. Who to call next? After reading the reviews here we were led to try Drainworks. All the reviews here (positive ones) are very accurate. We called around dinner time on a Saturday... they were going to show up that night but got caught on a big job but we received a call from dispatch asking if the next day was OK. They showed up in between the time they promised on Sunday and tried to snake the drain. 30 feet in and a big clog, no more snaking. Our tech, Matt, then did the camera and could not see much but a big blockage. He pinpointed the "root" of the problem and recommended excavation. We said go ahead, the next day the crew was there and replaced a part of clay pipe with newer technology pipe and removed a 3 foot tree root. They also put 2 clean out valves on the new pipe for us so if we need to snake again, it can be done now. Our water is flowing again thanks to Drainworks. Big thanks to Matt and the great Drainworks crew who really worked hard and very quickly to not only fix our problem but make us more knowledgeable about the tree root problem that exists. Hopefully the city will help cover some of our expenses as the inspector deemed city tree roots. Thanks again Drainworks, nice to know there are companies around that are not out to just rip you off but genuinely care about what they do and how they do it. I have attached a photo of our tree root so people can understand how much of a problem these can be!
