We noticed that part our lawn was green last year even without watering. This year we noticed a wet patch starting to form even though the weather was dry. We called Pristine Plumbing & Draining in to investigate the problem. Daniel was very prompt in answering our call and came by the next day to do an estimate. It turns out there was a leak with our water main and we would need it repaired. Daniel answered all our questions patiently. We worked out a repair date with him and were pleasantly surprised when he called a few days before the repair date to say that he was available earlier than planned. Daniel, Andrew, and Michael went to work on Monday and were able to replace the line by the end of the day. They even replaced our water shutoff valve with an easier-to-use one. They were friendly and available to answer any questions we had while they were working. It's good that Andrew and Michael had a landscaping background so they took good care of the trees and bushes near the trench they had to dig. The water only had to get shut off for an hour or two. By the next morning, the fix had already passed city inspection and Andrew back-filled the trench and the project was complete a few hours later. We're happy that Pristine did the job "by the book" and obtained the proper permits. We would use them for our future plumbing needs.

On a recent windy and rainy night we discovered a small leak in the attic and emailed Greg to see if he and his team at Crucial Roof Services could fix it before the problem got worse. Greg responded promptly and came to investigate with his colleague at one of the next big rainfalls. Greg gave us photos and a thorough explanation of the issue and a couple of options for the fix. He assured us that the roof itself still had a good number of years left on it so we chose the long-term fix - we're glad we did! On one of the rare recent sunny days, Greg and his colleague came and fixed the roof (sealing the ridge with lead and then putting new ridge tiles on) - as bonus they even cleared leaf debris off our roof. Greg sent us photos of his work. A few days ago when there were strong winds and heavy rains, we checked the attic again and no more leak!

We just moved in and wanted to install gutter guards or get the gutter cleaned as we had some large trees just outside our property. I called Home Smart a couple of weeks ago and Ian answered the phone right away. Ian came the next day to take a look and within the day after, he gave us a detailed and reasonably priced estimate. He answered all of our follow-up questions honestly. We decided to go with the cleaning and gutter guard installation. His crew came later that week when there was a break in the weather, They proactively caught and (after asking us over the phone) fixed a small leak on one of the corners of the gutter. I'm glad they fixed it and installed the gutter guards just before the second part of the heavy rains. When we got the invoice we were glad to see that Ian only charged us for the length of gutter actually used (he had originally ordered more gutter than needed and had listed the higher amount in the estimate). The charges on the invoice were clearly listed. He also sent some photo-documentation along with the invoice. We are happy with his work.

I recently purchased a home with a tile roof. The inspection report stated that there were areas on the roof that needed minor pro-active attention. The first roofer I contacted cut me off mid-sentence and tried to pressure me into replacing the roof. The second roofer cut me off mid-sentence and told me he would call back, but he never did. The third roofer I contacted was Greg. I left a message on his voicemail and wondered if he would get back to me. Greg followed up and left two messages (since I had taken a day off and was out of the office) and once we got in touch with each other he suggested that I email him the relevant sections of the home inspection report. Within a few days Greg went up on the roof to do a free inspection. He emailed his findings along with pictures and links to his blog articles. He also told me that the roof had a long life and only minor repairs were needed and that it would be recommended, but not necessary right away, to replace the skylights. The prices he quoted were very reasonable and he answered my questions promptly. After I gave the go-ahead to do just the repairs, Greg got them done quickly and emailed me the photo documentation and invoice that evening. Once he received my payment he also promptly emailed me the receipt. Greg is knowledgeable and honest and charges a reasonable price. I would go with his services again (e.g. when I've saved up enough for the skylight replacement) and I have already recommended him to some co-workers/friends.
