We had TLP come to redo the parging on the foundation of our 40 year old home and to do some tuckpointing to repair cracks in the brick facade. Darren did a great job, cleaning up all the dust and mess every day. The work looks great.

We had our roof replaced by Roofs on Homes, and also needed new eavestroughs, soffits and fascia. Manny was fantastic - he recommended colors that we would not necessarily have picked ourselves but that look GREAT on our home. The crew was prompted and cleaned up well after the job. I highly recommend these guys.

Roofs on Homes was a delight to work with from start to finish. I sent messages to several roofing companies who I found on Homestars, and got a call from the office at Roofs on Homes within an hour to schedule an appointment with the owner, Danny, for an estimate at my convenience within the next few days. Some other companies took days or even weeks to return my initial messages. Throughout the process, communication was prompt and clear. Danny arrived as scheduled, took a look at the roof, explained everything to me including various venting and warranty options, and sent a detailed estimate a few days later. He also took a picture of the top of our chimney, which needed some work, and referred me to another company who took care of that before we had the roof done. We got a new roof, upgraded the attic ventilation, and also replaced all the aluminum. We are grateful to not need to touch the top of our house again for many years. The crew who replaced our roof were fantastic. They did a great job and their cleanup was impeccable. (My neighbour was impressed, too, and went out of his way to tell us that he'd been expecting a big mess and was pleasantly surprised.) The shingles on the sunny side of the house were pretty crumbly when they removed them, and the crew still managed to clean up everything. Our eavestroughs and soffits also needed replacing, so Danny included that in the estimate and referred us to the aluminum division of the company - they were also great. I have absolutely no criticisms and would recommend Roofs on Homes to anyone.

I contacted Imran after reading all the great reviews on HomeStars, and it's all true. He responded quickly after I contacted him and arranged an appointment at a time that suited me. He is very professional and pleasant person. He did an excellent job, leaving our fireplace better than ever. Great guy, great company, and we will call him again next year for annual maintenance.

I have used Homestars in the past to find various service providers and was happy with the results. That goes the same for my experience with Green & Spotless. Alec & Devon were on time and did a great job. They were very professional and showed me all the stuff their truck-mounted vacuum was pulling out of our ducts - dust, bits of leaves, and even some wayward cat toys! The carpets were in bad shape, and they look much, much better now. I got to watch them work a bit and was amazed at the before-and-after. They offered stain protection on the traffic areas at a very reasonable add-on price, so we took them up on that and will call them again the next time our carpets and ducts need cleaning.

I contacted Atiar by email last night after our dryer broke and I read reviews on this site to find a repair technician. He answered my email at 6:30 this morning, and answered the phone when I called an hour later at 7:30. He said he could come between 11am and 1pm, and he was here on the dot at 11am. He quickly diagnosed the problem and replaced the heating element in our dryer, and also diagnosed a failing igniter in our gas stove and replaced that, too. I was impressed with his punctuality and professionalism, and I would call him again for other appliance repairs.

We had our sewer line replaced today (8+ feet deep, from the house to the property line) and Como provided the excavation crew. They did an excellent job and worked a very long day to finish the job in one day. (It would normally have taken about a day and a half, but snow is coming and everyone wanted to get it done in one day.)

We were referred to Vitaliy by Valentin from Strong Plumbing (who I also highly recommend) and he and his crew did a great job on a huge job for us today. They replaced our entire sewer line from the house to the property line, 8 feet deep. Vitaliy's attention to detail was excellent, and they took surprises (like a very strange location for the water line) in stride. They also worked a 12 hour day to do a job that would normally have taken a day and a half in one day in advance of a snowstorm predicted for tonight. I hope to never need these guys again, but I would recommend them to anyone who does! :)

I've called Valentin for small plumbing jobs twice in the past and have been very pleased with his work. This time, we were replacing our 30 year old nearly collapsed sewer line from the house to the property line where it joins the city pipes. He set us up with Master Drains and Water Works, a company he works with on drain projects, and they all did an excellent job today. They worked 12 hours to get the whole job done in one day since the weather is taking a turn for the worse tomorrow, and did a great job putting the yard back together and cleaning up.

We recently hired P&P Renovations to completely renovate our kitchen, including adding a pass-through in the wall between the kitchen and dining room, replacing a 30 year old sliding glass door with an equivalent-sized window, re-tiling the floor and backsplash, and installing cabinetry. Natanael and his team (Mauricio, Walter and Israel) did a great job, and put in some very long days to keep the project on schedule as much as possible. We started out with a pretty good idea of what we wanted - we'd chosen cabinets from Ikea, weren't changing the general layout too much, knew that we wanted an island, and the cutout wall. Natanael spent quite a bit of time with us at the beginning refining these plans. He has good ideas and experience about what works well and looks good, but didn't push us to change the scope of our project or do more expensive things we hadn't planned on. We appreciated this about him. He also recommended a counter supplier who gave us a better price on quartz than the Ikea suppliers would have, and did a nice job. Natanael and the rest of the guys were always on time, including the morning that a big snowstorm shut down all the local schools, universities, etc. They were there as planned at 8:15am, ready to replace the window and carry on with the rest of the project. Overall, we were very satisfied and plan to call Natanael again for some other home reno projects in the future.

We recently purchased quartz countertops as part of a kitchen renovation. We chose Dea Marble on the recommendation of our contractor, and Tony was great to work with. He wasn't pushy, gave us a very competitive price (better than the Ikea supplier we'd be previously considering) and showed up right on time on the scheduled day to do the installation.

I found Valentine on HomeStars last year, and emailed him again last week for two separate jobs - our old leaky laundry tub faucet needed replacing, and we wanted shutoff valves installed on our kitchen sink to facilitate replacing the sink during an upcoming renovation. Valentine answered my email the same night I sent it, and came two days later to do the job. As before, his work was excellent, and he uses high quality parts. He also spent some time looking at my kitchen plumbing with me and discussing our renovation plans, which involve some minor relocation of the dishwasher and sink, but probably no additional plumbing work - it was very helpful to get his opinion about what we should watch for when we work on the renovation. I would recommend Valentine to anyone, and I know who we will call the next time we need a plumber.

The attachments (which I now know were called hose bibs) for our washing machine recently started leaking. I emailed Valentin from the Homestars site on Tuesday and had a reply from him that evening. He understood exactly what the problem was based on my inexpert description, and arrived promptly as promised on Thursday morning. He was polite and professional and had the job done within half an hour. We will definitely call him again the next time we need a plumber.
