I contacted Rocco to provide drawings and secure a permit after reviewing the other Homestars reviews and searching his site. He was very attentive to my questions even though he was supposed to be out of office. The city was short staffed but he escalated it and the permits were issued within two weeks. His office dealt with any questions from the city so that I didn't have to try and navigate that. Well worth it to have it done through Architalcan.

Had Brian come by and provide a quote for our heating/cooling equipment. They were by far the cheapest cost. I was hesitant because of this (normally drop the top and bottom quotes) but we were planning to sell soon and didn't want to pay a premium. Brian and his team (3 in total) came on schedule and completed the work within a day. I though their work looked good (ie neat, pipes properly secured, etc..) I didn't have any issues with the equipment. One of my friends was also looking for a HVAC change. He came by to see the work Brian did and was satisfied to ask for a quote. He too was impress by the price. Afterwards, he said that he was pleased and didn't have any issues.

Contacted Dave to provide estimate on repairing our chimney due to water damage in 2011. They had to remove 14 rows of brick as well as replaced some damaged brick at the base of the window. I liked their professionalism with the way they dealt with things. Their pricing was very reasonable and they were able to match the red brick exactly (this was brick used in the 1980s). They did miss one brick at the base of one of the windows (owner thought it was done). It took them 2 weeks for one of their staff to come by to fix it but they did apologize for the delay and missed brick and were communicative throughout the delay. Great customer service.

We contacted Jia roofing a bit over 2 years ago to have an estimate on our roofing. A few of them came by (i think they were just finishing another job) and one gentleman (only one that spoke fluent english) provided a quote after consultation with the others. They were the cheapest and I felt comfortable with them but decided not to pursue it at that time. I called them back again last year and had them provide a quote. They were able to honour their price they gave me last year. As such I also asked them to provide costing to replace all our eavestroughs and flashing. They were very reasonable and were also able to colour match our eaves/flashing with the colour of our window trim (a slate colour). They were in and out within a day. Very clean. There was a leak around the bathroom vent afterwards that I had to get repaired. That was the only mark against their work.

Purchased Vintage Fumed Old Oak from a flooring reseller for 1800sqft. Many long pieces which was great. Due to the nature of the fume process, some pieces had a large white spot. Was not expecting how stark it looked but it adds to the character which we were looking for. Came out beautiful. Some pieces (very few) were not fully straight and had to be pried into place before installing.
