Markham installed a new opener for us late last year. A problem started this week where part of the garage was triggering the safety sensor and the garage would not close. I called the office to schedule a repair. First, Theresa informed me about a way I could get the door to close by bypassing the sensor. Second, she scheduled a service visit as soon as possible. Avery, one of Markham's installers, figured out the issue and fixed the problem with no charge. This is the second house where Markham has done work for us. Each time, the communication was prompt, clear, friendly and professional. And it's clear from this experience that Markham stands behind their work. Highly recommended.

We returned home from vacation in the evening to find one of our two air conditioners not working. It was the middle of a heat wave and the bedrooms were 37 Celsius. I contacted Tempasure because I had an excellent experience with them last year when they installed a tankless water heater. Even though it was 9pm they responded to my email immediately. They were busy because of the heat wave, but Len, the owner, made the time to squeeze us in. He scheduled an appointment for about noon the next day. He replaced a worn capacitor on the spot and got the air conditioning working. He also showed me that the two AC units were clogged with dust and dog hair, and he scheduled a maintenance visit for the next day. Everything is now functioning perfectly. As with my first experience, communication was prompt and consistent, and they provide rock solid customer service.

I hired Ideal Stairs to replace the original, 60-year-old iron and vinyl railing at my parents' home because they were no longer safe. - Communication was frequent and prompt. - They did everything they said they were going to do, exactly when they said they were going to do it. - The work was meticulous, detailed, and precise. - They were able to stain the new oak handrails and balusters to perfectly match the existing stairs and surrounding hardwood. - They patched the holes from the previous balusters in both wood and tile so that they're barely noticeable. - They checked in every day to make sure all was going well. - They new railing is strong and attractive. - They cleaned up both during and after the job. - Every interaction was professional, friendly, and courteous. - During the 3 days it took to do the work, they made sure that there was always a functional railing at the end of the day for my parents to use. Job: - Clean dryer venting system: My dryer vent was visibly overflowing with lint all the way from the exhaust vent to the lint screen. - Replace 2nd floor external dryer vent cover: Overflowing lint had pushed the cover away from the brick (see picture). - Replace external kitchen exhaust vent cover: The plastic had become brittle on the original vent and a family of birds destroyed the vent cover and built a nest (see picture) - Replace external exhaust vent cover from basement bathroom Reliable Dryer: - communication was prompt and thorough from start to finish - Marc was on time - The work was completed as agreed and very thoroughly. The dryer is venting system is spotless and there are new vent covers outside. - Marc listened to the problem and installed metal bird-proof vents. NOTE: Unlike the original installations where the vent covers were attached using caulking only, Marc took the time to screw the vent covers to the wall. Reasonable, professional, highly recommended.

Denis mounted a 65" tv on drywall, and concealed the wires. He also cleaned up the wiring on a second tv, installed previously by someone else. - Communication was good - Denis was prompt - The installation is solid, secure, and clean Denis pays attention to the detail. He comes with a backpack of tools, including a small vacuum he used to clean up the tiny amount of dry-wall dust. When he was done, he took the time to point out to me that the TV was perfectly level, but that it wasn't quite parallel to the cabinet below because the floor is not perfectly level, making everything look slightly slanted. He then made a slight adjustment to the mount (a feature of the mount itself) to make everything look exact. I'm completely satisfied with the work and I would call Denis again.

John has done a number of jobs for my household. The most recent job was replacing a kitchen faucet with a pull-down touch faucet. John is a reliable and prompt communicator. He shows up on time, does the work well, and his work holds up. Doing business with him is straightforward, no-nonsense.

3 jobs: mounting a mailbox on a stone wall, mounting street number sign on a stone wall, and mounting an 8-foot-tall shelf unit in the bathroom. Doing business with Ross and Erik is exactly what you would want. Communication was clear and prompt, and they are up-front about everything. They were here when they said they were going to be here, the work was well-done and looks great, and they're professional and friendly. They also care about doing the job right. The baseboard was preventing the shelf unit from sitting flush against the wall, so Ross and Erik cut two small, unobtrusive notches in the shelf unit to accommodate the baseboard. Their HomeStars reputation is well-deserved.

DESCRIPTION: - replace double front doors, including transom - replace double back door to deck, including transom with in-window blinds, and a sliding screen - replace sliding patio door with something more secure, including in-window blinds ESTIMATE: Igor, the owner of the company, came to do the estimate. He was on time, organized, and had a binder with proof of insurance, business license, and everything you would expect a reputable contractor to have. He is thorough, pays attention to detail, and speaks very seriously - to the point of being intense - about the quality of his product and installation. There were more decisions than I was expecting, but Igor took the time, explained the trade-offs, answered the questions, and left me feeling like we had enough information to make good choices. INSTALLATION: Three installers came to the house - exactly as scheduled - and worked all day to replace the 3 doors. Igor came at the end of the day to inspect and make sure that we were satisfied. The doors look great, and they fit and operate perfectly. Also noteworthy is that there is no longer ANY draft, and the noise from outside is significantly less. OVERALL: I am thoroughly satisfied with the product, the installation, and the experience of dealing with Igor and his people, and he'll be my first call when it's time to do the windows.
