G.H. Johnson has the worst customer experience that I have ever seen – they can't follow through.
I purchased bedroom furniture from G.H. Johnson over the phone from the owner’s son (Shaun) with a 50% deposit and was told it would take 1-2 weeks. After 2 weeks and no phone call, I called and they told me it was a special order and it would take 4-6 weeks. After 6 weeks and no phone call, I called and received a call back to schedule delivery and pay the balance with my credit card which they said was required to schedule the delivery. On the scheduled delivery date, I received a call 1 ½ hours before the delivery window after spending hours clearing the bedroom and they said the furniture has not yet arrived and they would call back to reschedule the delivery. I called customer service (Mark, owner’s son) several times and he called back once with no real explanation. I left a final message for the owner (Pat) to call back or I would have my credit card company charge them the full amount of my order. The owner never called back and I had my credit card company charge them. The day I got my money back I noticed a call from G.H. Johnson, which was no surprise as they are only in it for the money.
After 14 weeks instead of 1-2 weeks, we received our furniture (ordered February 17 and received May 28)!
One might expect better customer service when dealing directly with the owners’ family but this is not the case with G.H. Johnson. I would not recommend G.H. Johnson to anyone.
