Dining Room Table

We ordered a table that they had to bring from the St. Catherine's location. A deposit was placed and an estimate was given for delivery. We waited and waited and nothing from them indicating that it would be delivered. We contacted the store after 4 weeks and found out that they sold the table to another person and could not get another one in. It was very frustrating and would not recommend them to anyone. They also did not seem as though they cared that we went 1 month without a table and had to start the shopping process all over again....I assume this happens quite a bit...

Horrible - stay away!

We purchased 2bdrm outfits, sectional and recliner because the prices were great. But we quickly learned our lesson when we Received wrong bed frame, a damaged bed frame, missing parts for the dresser and mirror and or sectional order was omitted and once received was damaged. Still awaiting replacement. Employees and owner Patrick both need lessons in customer service.

Service

I'm a long time shopper at Parks in Hamilton and I've noticed that the quality of the personal customer service at this store has been rapidly declining for the last couple of years. Their prices are still great, but I've noticed that they don't care for their customers nearly as much as they used to. It's a shame. I know that I've started looking elsewhere when I'm shopping for furniture and I recommend that my friends do the same.

power chair purchase

We went to Parks in hamilton, saw a power chair we wanted to purchase. After finally finding a sales clerk, we were told the price on it was $200. more than the ticket price. The warranty was for a year but if we took it home ourselfs the warranty was void !! We asked about an extended warranty and were told we couldn't get one because it was made in china. We went to Parks in the U.S.A. and bought a better chair for $200. less, and the warranty is still valid !! The hamilton store has the worst sales people, rude , have no knowledge of their products at all. Don't waste your time there, you won't be happy !!

Faulty Bedroom Set - TERRIBLE customer service

I am not exaggerating when I say this was the WORST shopping experience of my life. Let me start by saying that this was about 3-4 months ago, so I am not just blinded by rage right now. I have had lots of time to calm down and be logical about the situation, yet I cant even drive by the store without my blood boiling. I think that says a lot. Why, you ask? Let me tell you that I went into Parks looking at couches and bedroom sets. We didn't find any couches but we did purchase whole bedroom set (dresser, mirror, chest, bed frame, 2 night stands, box spring and mattress.) We had the family discount card, so we received the 40% off. For a total of just under $1900.00. Which was great! I was pleased, my experience had been great up until that point. No complaints from me. The problem with Parks come when you go to return something. Whether it is being returned by fault of your own, OR by fault of the store. Which is mind boggling on its own. SOO, we pick up all our furniture, (we had a moving truck so we were able to, as we just bought a house and it was moving day!) we get all the furniture unloaded and begin to go at assembling it. This is where we came to find that the quality and workmanship was really not there at all (in this particular collection anyway), but fine, i got a good deal, i will live with it. Then we discover that the bed rails could not be latched on to the headboard, which was due to faulty workmanship on their end. We couldn't even rig it to make it work. It needed to be replaced. I called them and filled them in, I was informed that the did not have the pieces needed to fix the bed and that I could pick out another set and return that one. I told them I was more than okay with that, as I wasn't very impressed with the quality of the furniture anyways, I would be happy to return it! Then, they inform me that they could take the rails from a king size bed they had in stock (I had a queen), and problem solved. I said "No. I want to return this set. Its poorly made, its not built properly, there are scratches and dents on one of the dressers, so no. I will return it, and pick out a new set." So now this is where it gets really fun! I was informed that since i was returning it, I would be charged a 10% restocking fee. Which equalled out to be over $200. First of all, I didn't even spend $2000, so how does 10% of $1886 end up being $224? Well, it seems they don't base they're %10 fee on what you paid (I had the family discount card, remember?) They base off of the FULL PRICE! Not only that, but they are charging me this fee for returning a faulty bedroom set they sold to me! How dare they!? Needless to say, I was not impressed. I kept calling and trying to speak to supervisors, who were all incredibly rude. I finally go on the phone with who I was told was the owner, and I have never felt so disrespected in my life. He was the rudest, more arrogant person I have ever spoken to. He was patronizing, spoke down to me, rude, and this was the owner! We ended up in literally a screaming match with him telling me "DO NOT EVER CALL HERE AGAIN!" and he hung up on me. I was in tears... I had this huge bedroom set sitting in my garage that was unusable. I calmed down and called back, i had no choice, i was stuck. We both apologized but he was still snarky with me and did not budge. I had to pay this $224 AND he charged me a delivery fee to pick it up. It was suppose to be $80, but he was nice enough to cut in half to $40. What a great guy! (note sarcasm please!). Soo, long story short. It cost me $264 to return a bedroom set that was sold to me broken. Wow! Can I just add that just a week prior we had purchased a couch from another store (not allowed to name store) for our basement. The delivery guys came with the couch but it would not fit downstairs, so they packed it back up, took it back to the store, and i was fully refunded, no hassle at all! It boggles my mind because technically this store could have gave me a hard time considering it could've been said that it was my fault it didn't fit, maybe I shouldve measured.. but no, they took it back without even a question. Then you have Parks Furniture, who sold me faulty product, and then charged me almost $300 to return it! There is something very wrong with this picture!
I wish I could do something about it, but I can't. I can only warn others to be cautious. They seem like a great store... nice selections, fair prices, but remember, the problems arise when you need to return something!
My boyfriend and I are a young couple that just bought a house, we will and have been furnishing our whole house, but we will NEVER shop at Parks Furniture again! We also have lots of friends who are at the home buying point in their life, and we make sure they all know not to go there as well.
I may as well have just flushed $300 down the toilet... and I'm sure most of us can agree, that's not pennies! That is a significant amount of money!

bed, mattress and delivery

I opted to pickup a mattress, boxspring and bed as part of an order with a friend (who had there portion delievered). Items were loaded and was asked to confirm receipt by signing sheet. Once home the mattress (which was wrapped) was soaked 2' from one end and the boxspring had tears in the fabric. After calling the store, I was told if i signed i inspected it. I was not informed we were inspecting the WRAPPED and BOXED items.

After photos and emails were exchanged with sales staff the warehouse manager chimed in and said it was my fault and fine when it left...went on to say i did something to it and had to bring it back myself and they don't need to exchange it (after sales said they would).

Several unprofessional emails and a call later from the warehouse manager, the sales staff offered to pay for the delivery themselves to clear this up...which is perposterous. This is an internal Park's issue and the warehouse manager has no customer skills whatsoever.

Products and service is terrible

I purchased a set of dining table and a set of breakfast table, a sofa and a chair and two tables from them. When we received the order. We found out the dinning table was damaged badly at the edge. There was no hardware came with breakfast table. And missing another two parts for the serving table and the arm-chairs. I have contacted the sales person and the delivery department. They are not very helpful. After I called the sales person few more times about my order problems. She basically told me she was only in charge of selling the furniture. I should deal with the customer service department. And she never returned my call again. Before they came over to pick up the damaged table to fix, I told her and the delivery department to make sure they would send me the missing hardware at the same time. They both said that's not a problem. But they didn't send me the hardware when the damaged table was picked up. None of the table sets we can use now. One set is missing hardware. One set is missing the table top. Another one and a half week passed, they could not tell me how long I will receive them. We have paid in full for the furniture.

It's such a nightmare! It's the worst customer experience to me. I wish I have read the reviews from the web before I went to the Parks furniture store.

Leather Couch

We Purchased a leather couch in April 2012. The incorrect couch arrived on delivery, however we accepted it after the delivery men already put holes in our walls. A few months later the leather started to peel. Under warranty we submitted a claim in December 2012. We have yet to receive a resolution. 20 to 30 emails and phone calls have been made and we are still waiting for a replacement. I have never experienced such terrible customer service in my life.

Park Furniture

After delaying the processing of our $6000 order for over two weeks with a sales person that apparently is often off or absent, our order arrived only to sit at the store for a week before being delivered to us. Total wait time for the order was over two months. The attempt to make amends? NOTHING! No discount, no absorbing of delivery fee, no expediting of the delivery process, no accommodation of any sort. Not good customer relations.
