Ideal Insulation & Roofing

We had one of their guys come out to take a look at a condensation issue we had. Not only did he answer our millions of questions but told us how we could remedy it and also gave us a quote for their services. NO charge for coming to take a look. Very polite, has been quick to communicate with, answered all my questions and above all... NOT PUSHY! I would strongly recommend them if you want a truly honest opinion. Even though I did not end up using their services, I hugely appreciate how willing they were to help someone out!

We knew it was time to address the insulation in our home. The attic insulation was over 20 years old and the floor above the cantilever in our master bedroom was always cold in winter, even with carpet. Ideal was one of two contractors we requested estimates from and, like others, we too were impressed with the thoroughness of their inspection and the attention paid to detail, all of which was reflected in the quote. I was also impressed with their voluntary inclusion of copies of all the contractor related documentation - WCB, ins, business license, etc. We had the work done in August with the attic insulation replaced (R50) and spray insulation for the cantilever. The install experience was good - professional, courteous, timely and tidy. I’ve been holding off on the review until the weather could truly test the quality of the work and these last 2 weeks have certainly tested the insulation. I’m delighted to say that our home temperature has held steady for extended periods and the floor over the cantilever is no longer cold, even with bare feet. Ideal did a wonderful job and I would highly recommend them.

Estimator was thorough, friendly, on time and took time to ensure the customer was clear on what exactly they would be doing.
Installers again were on time and proceeded with the job without delay. When they were complete asked the owner if he would like to take a look in the attic to ensure he was satisfied with the completed work.

My unit is 20 years old. Insulation was at approximately 23. Code is now 50. I brought it up to 60. Very pleased with Mike’s inspection and quote. Also very pleased with the three gentlemen that did the actual work. I can feel the difference in my home already. I will be recommending Ideal to any other unit owners who wish to have this done. It's almost unimaginable to use the word "enjoy" when talking about home repair, but I did honestly enjoy the experience of working with Mike Palmer and the team at Ideal. There was some scheduling complexity to our insulation job, as we first had to complete an absetos abatement and make some other attic repairs and modifications. Mike was outstanding managing this project, accommodating changes, identifying solutions, all the while communicating clearly and regularly. All the Ideal team was great, and I would highly recommend working with Mike to coordinate and manage your project.

Our home is 50 years old, and in the winter for the past two years we have been experiencing heat loss. It was time to re-insulate the attic. From my internet search I contacted three organizations. Mike for Ideal Insulation was the only one who spend 45 minutes investigating our issues in the attic. He was very thorough. Other organizations spend 5-10 mins. Mike took pictures and explained clearly the process required to re-insulate the attic. The bathroom exhaust fans were not code sufficient, and Mike provided contact for contractor that would complete the job. The final estimate from Mike was extremely competitive. His crew (Jason and Steven) arrived on time at 7am to commence the project. They were very professional in their manners and ensured poly covered all furniture in our bedroom where the attic access was. the job is not easy, to sit in the attice and spend eight hours vacuuming the old insulation. I highly respect workers who do this job. The crew cleaned after the job was completed. Ideal Insulation has left an iimpression on me of a professional contractor who perform excellent work at competitive rates.

We purchased a fifty year old house in Calgary and quickly realized just by looking at it that the attic insulation was inadequate (it was original wood chips, the vapour barrier was not in tact, and the vents for the bathroom fans and range hood were not to code). So we made calls to a few companies and had representatives from each come to our home to investigate it further. The best company by far was IDEAL Insulation and Roofing. Mike from IDEAL promptly came to our home and did a thorough examination of what what needed to be done to insulate our garage and interior attic including removing old insulation and supplying new, putting vapour barrier where it was missing and repairing/taping what was there, air venting the attic, supplying new roof vents for fans, skylight insulation and back pan etc. The prices were very competitive and the systematic organization of the work was amazing. I cannot stress how professional this company is. Mike arranged the trades, which were many, to our home to complete the various aspects of the work required and came regularly to check the progress. Dan, an insulation supervisor from IDEAL also came to our home each day to check the work while in progress and the work when it was completed. What a fantastic company! We highly recommend IDEAL to anyone who needs insulation or roofing. You won’t be disappointed. And if you have an older home, maybe let them come out and look to see the state of your home. We had Ideal give us a new roof 2 years ago and we were happy with all aspects of the work. During one of last weeks rain storms we had water running down the outside of our chimney onto the top of the furnace. We left a message at Ideal and Jayson quickly got back to us. He came out the next day and had the problem fixed in no time. Thank you for the quick and efficient service.
