won't look at my furnace after-hours

Furnace is just over 6 yrs old, second time there's been trouble. First time, minor problem and Economy fixed it asap. Now, second time, it's an after-hours problem as it usually is for people who work during the day and aren't home to see a problem. This time happens to be Family Day. Called Economy and was told they won't so an after-hours service for furnaces they have installed more than 12 months ago. So I am willing to pay extra for after-hours service but would have to sit in a freezing house till the next day and take time off work for them to fix it. Not going to happen, so called someone else and a service man coming in less than 45 minutes. Won't be calling or recommending Economy again.

Company Response

Our company does not normally provide service to the retail public. Our primary business is new home construction. We must ensure our warranty obligations are met, and that often means we cannot take on extra service work. It appears this person's complaint is that our answering service advised them that they would have to wait till the next day to reach someone at our office, and that only messages from people with emergency issues that were under warranty would be relayed immediately. This person is complaining our company would not provide a service that is out of our scope of business. This is like complaining that a coffee shop would not provide one with a cocktail within 10 minutes. It appears this person had no problem finding a company who provided the service they were looking for, no doubt it was one of the many contractors who do specialize in retail service.

Furnace replacement

6 years ago I called Economy for service as our furnace stopped working. Another company (their slogan "fixed right or its free") told me that the furnace was dead. I then called Economy and they fixed it for $100, it's been running perfect since that. Being time to replace that same furnace we called 3 companies including Economy. Their quote was $2,000.00 less than one quote! Day of install was smooth, installers were great, professional and courteous. They told us they would be done by 1 pm and they were. New Lennox is running now, quiet and warm. Best call I ever made! My only regret was wasting my time calling for other quotes.

Furnace, duct cleaning

We always use this company for our furnace and duct cleaning. They usually do a good job with the cleaning. We never have any issues. They are quick and efficient. The price is very reasonable. We would recommend them to other homeowners.
