Purchase of gas furnance. For financing we were forced to acquire their Sears credit card at 29.99% interest for payment each month. Other companies go through financial institutions at a low interest rate.

Have purchased a good quality refrigerator from this company. When it works everything is perfect. Unfortunately the ice maker has quit a number of times now. When a service tech is called out it is a hit or miss depending on if they had worked on this model before or not. Techs were great but unfortunately they have min training

The Sears repairman came on time.He was courteous and helpful. He showed me where the problem was and gave me some ideas to extend the life of the machine. I found him polite, worked quickly and charged me what was quoted. I would recommend him any time.

Sears has been our go to company for home renovations. We have used their services for hardwood floors, carpets, furnace, air conditioner, appliances, all with no problems. So it was easy for us to choose Sears for our window blinds from Hunter Douglas.

In a word - awful. We chose Sears vs. a small local fireplace company (big mistake) largely because the sales guy promised, among other things, that the gas line could be installed internally. When the installers came they shook their heads and said not a chance. Furthermore, the installers on the furnace job ripped a hole in my ceiling and ran ugly water hosing to my basement sink, all without my clearing it first. I had no luck chasing the sales guy after the fact. I'd *never* recommend Sears.

I had searched for items on sale at various retailers and finally, went into Sears at St laurent shopping centre. I explained to the salesman that I was able to find individual appliances on sale at different stores but no one had all the appliances on sale at one time such that I could make a single purchase for all of them. He said that Sears would match ll sale prices of identical appliances. All I had to do was bring in proof. The next day, I collected all the flyers and brought them to Sears. He checked them all and then matched the sale prices such that I was able to do "one-stop shopping" at Sears for all my appliances. I was satisfied!

In 2002, I had 25-year roof shingles and ventilation installed by Sears Home Central in Ottawa.

The day following the installation, I contacted Sears expressing my concerns about the location of the Maxi Vent they had installed. The salesman came to see and insisted the ventilation was fine.

In the summer of 2009 I noticed the shingles are cooked, curling, breaking and leaking. I get huge ice dams in the winter, causing water to back up and drip inside.

Cause: Their own representative finally came to inspect it in July 09 and told me that the ventilation they installed was done incorrectly, causing excessive heat buildup in the attic, and it is Sears' responsibility. He also said that they would fix the ventilation and reshingle the roof at no cost to me.

Since then, all I get is runaround, excuses, gobbledegook and outright untruths from the local Installation Manager in Ottawa and from Customer Service.

Be warned. If you need any work done, find another contractor than Sears.
