Asselin J Roofing Co Ltd

I made a complaint to the BBB which was totally ineffectual. They could not get through to Asselin to even start mediation. I assume they avoided them like they avoided us. What is annoying is that their BBB rating (A+ !!)cannot change if there is no dialogue, which makes me think there is something wrong with the BBB as well. Please make complaints. The process is not all that time consuming. Save other consumers! Thanks!

We had a roof installed. The workers broke a window throwing old roofing down to the ground. Jack (owner) told us to have it repaired and that he would pay us back for it. We got quotes for window repairs, then had the repair done. Of course, we would have prefered if the company dealt with this themselves.

When we went to ask to be reimbursed, Jack said that he was not sure they broke the window, that the repair was overpriced and avoided our calls for months saying he was on vacation, relatives died etc... This is frustrating as the terms were agreed upon and we were not trying to get anything out of him that was not routine. We feel he will never own up to the window issue and will not recommend the company to anyone. We feel taken advantage of.

Horrible customer service. Zero interest in honoring their 10 year warranty. Called to have them inspect the leak. They'll do everything to avoid even coming to look at the job they'd done ...still have a leaking roof.

It was recently brought to our attention that our flatroof was in horrible shape and was in desperate need of repair. We purchased this house in December 2008 and was told that the roof was done in 2001, so I pulled out the receipt that the previous owners left for us and my husband called the company. Well, the conversation did not last more than 5 minutes, but it was filled with verbal abuse and foul language... all from the owner of J. Asselin Roofing. My husband repeating asked why he was so upset and calmly explained that he had only called to inquire and have someone come look at the roof since it was still covered under the 10 year warranty listed on the invoice. The owner continued to yell at my husband and then hang up on him. I have seen various reviews online for this company and I can now see that this is how he treats most people that call there and question his work. They repaired a roof they had applied before i purchased. none of the issues were resolved so i paid to have a totally new roof put on. issues still not resolved so had an inspector who said it wasn't a new roof just a repair. had to pay for a whole new roof (a second time) with an incredible roofer. owner refused to accept responsibility. unbelievable they are still in business.

A home inspection questioned whether the flat roof was ever repaired. It was in very bad shape. I called the company to see what they intended to do and the owner was rude, insulting and had no intention of doing anything about it. He puts the "ass" in Asselin. I never, ever, ever consider using this company for anything.

We had a flat roof installed this summer and after the first rainfall the roof was leaking in three different areas, damaging walls and an antique dresser. The owner refused to come out to our house even though the work came with a guarantee. The workmen also left our garden full of debris and the flashing was sloppy with roofing material running down the edges.

They did our roof - it leaks and caused $3500 damage in our home - when called, I was asked that my husband deal with the issue as they do not like to deal with 'housewives'. Also crass and insulting on the phone and told us to take him to court cause he 'ain't doing a single thing' for us. Very unprofessional and we have now been told by 'REAL ROOFERS" that they did not do anything and that our roof is over 20 years old and was not replaced by J Asselin Roofing - they did find drink cans and cigarette butts up there though... hmmm.

Excellent work done on our flat part of our roof. Workers were on time and worked quickly and efficiently...everything cleaned up. I would recommend them highly. Thet've been in business over 50 years.
