I first met Jeff after an unfortunate water incident in my beautifully finished basement. Jeff arrived at my home within hours with all the equipment needed to clean and dry the area. I was so worried about mould from the water and dust from drywall repair but to my astonishment Jeff professionally took care of everything. I was most impressed with his dust free drywall installation. It was the cleanest experience I have ever had with a contractor in my home and I have called Jeff on two other occasions to do work in my home. I would highly recommend him to all my friends, in fact I have. Thank you Thorman RENOvations Inc !

I have used Thorman Reno for several years now for different projects inside the house and outside. I have been very satisfied with their work in each project and that's why I turned to Jeff Thorman once again for this task.
I had hired another company to replace my wood deck with the new composite/plastic eon deck boards. This product is very hard to work with and to install. We had 2 different people work on it from the first company we hired. The first one was incompetent and the second one stopped showing up in the middle of the project due to its complexity. What was supposed to be a 2 weeks project was still not completed after 2 months.
Thankfully, Jeff, who was completing a nursery room project at my house, stepped in and assured me he could take on the deck project and finish it for me. Not only did he stick to his word but he did it within the promised timeline and, once again, made sure that I was very satisfied with the end product and installation.
I am so thankful to Jeff and his team that I finally have a deck again and that I can enjoy my garden again after such a stressful summer.
I would recommend Thorman Reno to anyone without any hesitation. I especially like the fact that Jeff stays very present and works on the projects as well until completion as opposed to other companies who send their helpers to do the job instead of the person you first spoke to and thought you were hiring.

We have hired Jeff for multiple projects so far. He renovated our 3 bathrooms, installed ceiling trims in our main floor and recently completed our nursery room. I would recommend Thorman Reno to anyone without any hesitation. We were very pleased with the end results of all three projects. Jeff is very professional, conscientious and accommodating in his work. He never left before making sure we were 100% satisfied with his work.
I just asked him for an estimate for a deck that I would like to replace. Knowing that I would be in very capable hands is a precious piece of mind.

We hired Jeff and his crew to renovate 2 small bathrooms. Overall we were pleased with the finished results.

Jeff is very accommodating and very professional. He is also very busy and since our project was smaller we did a lot of waiting because he had other bigger projects to attend to. We started this project in May 2012 and it was to be done in about 4 weeks, but it did not get completed until the end of August 2012. We understand delays in renovation and expected some, but this was more than we thought. There were a few occasions when we were told the crew would be there the next day and they were no show and no calls to explains. This was frustrating at times. We also had an incident where one crew member broke a sink during transportation and did not own up to it. Jeff dealt with the issue in a very professional matter, but it also delayed our project. We also had an issue with the bath tub which once installed leaked and damaged our kitchen ceiling. Jeff dealt with this issue again in a very professional matter.

The after service is not bad, but you need to follow-up in order to get things sorted out.

The crew in general were very friendly and competent, but sometimes forgot to protect our carpets and then the issue of the young member who broke the sink (store had a video of incident).

We took a long time to write this review because we didn't how to rate it. We liked the job, we liked the crew, but we had more than our share of challenges in the project. I think they are worth a look and would likely try them again.

Jeff and his crew are fun to work with. They think about the details before getting started and have useful ideas and advice throughout the process. Jeff is honest and clear upfront so that there are no surprises. We would work with them again in the future.

We recently hired Thorman Reno to finish our basement this spring. The basement had some work already done to it by the previous owner, and we wanted to finish it off to make more usable space in our house, and storage.

Out of the companies we considered, Thorman's was most in line with the budget we had, and after checking out references freely provided by Jeff, and doing other research online, we hired the crew to start the job in mid February. As a bonus, Jeff even invited me to another job site they were working on so I could get a feel for how they operate!

Jeff helped us design the basement to be functional, and to maximize the space to best use the area. He had many cost saving ideas to suggest as well. And he encourages full compliance with city permits, so you knew things would get done right.

After 2 months, the job was completed, and it looks amazing! Guests compliment it all the time, and are surprised to find out it didn't cost twice as much.

During the work, the job site was always left in a tidy way, especially before weekends. And with their air venting system, we found zero dust on any other floor of the house, so it really works!

Jeff, Noel, Sean, and Kristoff were all extremely polite and we always felt comfortable with them working in our home.

Any issues that arose during the project were handled by Jeff, leaving us with nothing to worry about.

We have yet had an opportunity to need a follow up visit from Jeff for any items, but I feel confident that any such requests would be dealt with in a timely manner.

We have several other projects in mind for our house, and our first (and only call) will be to Jeff and the rest of the Thorman crew! And if you want more evidence to his quality, I suggest you check out his YouTube channel to see just how good he is!

Update: I just wanted to update my review for after job service. A few months after the job was done, we noticed a few small issues we wanted Jeff to take a look at. Chiefly a door that was stuck closed with the change of seasons, some cupboard doors that were hitting the countertops, and it looked like some tiles in the powder room are missing grout.

I first contacted him at the end of July, and followed up the a few weeks later in August. Then I was told they were busy and he would be out within a few weeks.

I contacted him again in the beginning of September as I had not heard from him.This time I heard from him a few days later, with another promise of coming out within a few weeks because they were busy. I understand the summer is when contractors make their most money, so I was more than happy to be patient.

After not hearing from him, I contacted him again at the beginning of October. No reply was given, so I contacted him again at the end of October, again with no reply.

So I decided to come back here and edit my review to give my experience. While the project itself was well done aside from our few issues, the after sales service doesn't appear to be that strong.

From the beginning Jeff understood that we wanted a something straightforward and budget conscious. He and his crew were extremely courteous and clean. Followup questions and issues were addressed. Very happy with the work.

Jeff and his team did a complete renovation on our main bathroom (1930’s era home). Jeff has so much experience renovating older homes that they were able to find solutions to quirky things that came up during the job. The team did a great job on the installation, the tile work and the painting. The bathroom looks amazing – and the work was done on schedule and on budget. Since the job was completed, there have been a few things that needed adjustment. Jeff came back and took care of them for us. We would definitely use Thorman Reno for other projects.

Jeff absolutely transformed my dining room . His attention to detail and incredible technique resulted in the most beautiful hardwood floor in my home . Right from the special floor protection upon entering my home to the clean up after he was done , I have never seen such organization . I plan to have him back for everything else I will ever need . Definitely the cleanest most stress free renovation I have ever had in my life . I would rate him a 12 out of ten for exceeding my every hope and expectation .
