Replace dishwasher electrical

Neil is an owner-operator and a master electrician and you can tell by the level of service he gives. He took the time before the job to discuss options, investigate the problem thoroughly and provide his assessment.

He did a great job, the price was reasonable and he uncovered some issues he didn't expect which added some time which I wasn't charged for. I would recommend him and will definitely call him again for any electrical work.

Replacing light fixtures

I called Neil on a Sunday afternoon and he was able to get over right away and replace six light fixtures. His rate was fair, especially for such short notice on a weekend. He worked quickly and was very courteous and professional. I wouldn't hesitate to call him again, and will be recommending him to my friends!

Neil was a pleasure to work with. He took the time to understand what work was needed and he worked very efficiently. Neil got an electrical permit from city hall, completed the work, and called for an inspection all within 48 hours. The total cost in the end was very fair.

Home Renovation

Neil is a diligent, client-focused, and fairly priced certified electrician. I would highly recommend him for your residential electrical needs. Prior to commencing our renovation project, I engaged 4 electrical companies (including Nu-Phase) to evaluate and bid on the work, which consisted of an electrical assessment of our home (i.e. ensure existing wiring was safe and to code); installation of 31 pot lights and a tv outlet; installation of junction boxes; and removal of an old baseboard electric heater.

Neil was very flexible/accommodating and worked in partnership with me in respect of the work scope, budget, and timeline. Further, Neil was very transparent and fair in terms of his dealings, explanations, and contract (i.e. no hidden costs or surprises). He explained the process and timeline, and answered any questions I had – whether it was before, during, or after the work was completed. To ensure everything was documented and captured, all verbally agreed matters were documented and included in the contract prior to any work commencing. He stands by the quality of his work and affords a guarantee on workmanship (i.e. should any issue arise with respect to the work he performed, he will fix it at no additional cost), which speaks volumes. Finally, to further demonstrate his commitment to service, he recommended and installed hardwired carbon monoxide and smoke detectors free of charge (clarification: I purchased the units and he installed them).

Overall, Neil provided quality service and completed the scope of work on time and on budget. I’m a very happy client. Solid work from a great guy.

new lighting fixtures for entire home

This is the third time in 1.5 years that i've gone back to Neil of Nu-Phase to do lighting work. I first met and reviewed Neil in our previous two projects involving my condo (first time for upgrades, second time for repairs prior to selling). Both times I gave him amazing reviews and couldn't shut up about how great Neil was at service, customer care and his more than fair and balanced pricing.
Now on to my third time hiring Neil to take care of my lighting needs: When i bought my new townhome and made plans for renos, I knew exactly who I should call to handle all the fixtures! I needed all the original ugly/cheap lighting ripped out, replaced with new ones i had chosen and dimmers added. For the third time in my life, Neil came to the rescue and then some! Luckily I called him ahead of time to prep him on the work i needed and not only did he give me some advice, he even told me some stores where I could find some really amazing fixtures! Oh but the service experience story gets better. Let me take this further back in time. Originally i called neil from Home Depot where I was trying to decide on a fixture for my living room and dining room and I txted him for his opinion. In minutes, Neil called me back and asked me where i was. I told him the home depot location and his response was, "oh, i'm not too far from there. Hang out there for a bit and I'll swing by and help you pick the best ones." This is more than just great service or going above and beyond. Neil genuinely cares about his customers and driving all the way to the store where I was so he could help me pick the right type of lighting is something NO electrician would ever do for me, you or anybody. Once there, Neil gave me his honest opinion and then told me of some other stores close by that provided even nicer lighting fixture designs at similar/competitive prices. I knew by now after having Neil do my lighting work for me in the past, that I should trust him so i took a look at the other stores he suggested and was so glad I did. I not only found better lighting, but they were well within my budget (which is why i went to home depot in the first place, looking for a pocket friendly deal). Neil knows exactly what you need, as long as you're clear on what your criteria are. He tore out all the old lights, put up my new ones, added dimmers, and best of all, he even helped to identify issues inside the walls that I should raise with Strata. Code violations!! Not because it affected his work (which it didn't, since he was able to mount the lights without having to deal with any code violation issues) but because he looked inside behind the walls and noticed it, and rather than turn a blind eye to it, he told me I better get it raised with strata pronto. I've told just about everybody I can to hire Neil for their lighting. I'm telling you all now. Do it. I'm obviously not the only one here who thinks he's great based on how many people are drawn to review him highly so you have to trust me and all of the others. We can't all be wrong about this guy. Neil's cell is now in my contact list on my phone because he's now my go-to guy for any lighting problems or issues. I never ever have to look around again for someone to trust or take a chance on. He's honest, provides a level of service way above the amount he charges you and he clearly is passionate about his job which makes him great at it. Now i need him to fix up the kitchen fixtures at my parent's condo. I have no doubt I'll be posting a 4th review about Neil in the near future!

Electrical troubleshooting

I had lights out in a section of the house with no breaker tripped. Neil was able to quickly determine a loose neutral wire in the main panel and fix it.
