Had a basement flood 2 yrs ago, and not happy with the company that did repair using PVC replacement pipes for original clay tiles on one side of house to front yard sump. Carlo did a video inspection of whole drainage system, and flushed everything to the sump. He came promptly, explained in detail each step of the procedure, with exceptional knowledge. Good news is that my old remaining clay tiles worked very well, and did not need replacement. Added bonus was he cleared a very slow backed up main inside basement drain, and pointed out some other potential problems that needed to be fixed by a plumber.

We met Carlo after a flood in our garage that we'd called a big name company out to resolve and they gave us a huge quote for a full redo of our drain tile ($35K!). Carlo gave us a much more reasonable second opinion and for a fraction of the cost he solved our problem. He's been back since to help us with maintenance and keep things running as they should and now I wouldn't call anyone else! I've had this wonky drainage issue for over 20 years. After my first flood I was advised to flush my drain tiles every couple of years at ever increasing costs. Some even told me to dig out my drain tiles (over $10000 estimate) as the tiles had collapsed.

Carlo did a video inspection on my house’s drain tile a while back and promised a quote but he never did. I didn’t follow up until now so I called him today. He said he needs to do another video inspection in order to give me a quote. While I was trying to get his assurance that he will give me a quote after the second video inspection, he hung up the phone before I finished my question.

I called West Side Drainage to scope my perimeter drainage system because I was having trouble identifying a water leak. Carlo was onsite the next morning, and when I explained the problem, I was having, Carlo immediately felt the drainage was not the issue, he had another hunch and encouraged me to open the drywall from the inside with his guidance. From there he was able to identify the source of the leak based on clues inside the wall, a huge relief to resolve this mystery. The sump in my 1950s bungalow basement has probably never had any maintenance and given that there is rotting foliage or roots in the sump space, I think it could be in urgent need of attention. In order to know what to do next I needed to understand where the water in the sump comes from and how the sump works and what my options are, given the Covid situation. I called Westside Drainage to try to get and understanding of the problem. Carlos took the time to explain the way the components of the 1950s sump and how it functions. He did this very clearly and patiently and I now understand the sump enough to anticipate the various directions the problems and how the repair might go, and to make some informed decisions. I enjoyed our conversation. Of course he could not make any recommendations without accessing the sump and seeing it for himself, which I hope will become possible when the Covid risk gets under better control in BC. Carlos is clearly an expert at what he does, was patient, personable and excellent in this first phase of what will likely continue as sump repair project with him when Covid allows it.
