Steve and his team at Restoration 1 were fantastic. From the first minute someone answered my call to the end of the job they've been professional, reliable and a pleasure to work with. A problem as big as a flooded basement can be incredibly stressful but they took as much stress out of it as they could. Much thanks!

When you have something happen that uproots your daily living routine, it's nice to know you can count on a team of professionals to assist you with navigating through required steps and providing the necessary clean up to restore home function. This team of professionals were outstanding from the time they entered my home until the job was complete and smiles were free. I would recommend Restoration 1 to anyone including my own family.

As soon as Steve and Sam arrived to inspect the mould in my basement they put my mind at ease. A previous contractor had led me to believe that it was a near catastrophic situation! They explained what needed to be done and exactly how they go about it. They quickly arranged for their crew to come. The crew was efficient, neat and again explained everything, before, during and after the clean-up. They were extremely careful with managing the affected areas and containing them properly. Another crew came back for a second inspection. Everything went perfectly and I would highly recommend them. Steve and Sam at Restoration1 are consummate and honest professionals in a business where that does not always exist. I recently bought my home in Etobicoke. Prior to closing I had another mold company come to inspect the current conditions, the guy showed up with a flashlight and a ladder, nothing else. Afterwards, he also tried to tell me my job would cost around $20,000+ for remediation. This was discouraging news. As a last resort, I contacted my home inspector and asked for a recommendation for mold remediation. He recommended Steve, from Restoration 1. Steve was extremely friendly, professional, and understanding. I explained the current situation, what my wife and I were looking to do with the home, and he explained to me that he and his team would come out, assess the situation and give me a evaluation. Steve and 3 of his colleagues came to my home to inspect the mold. For starters, they brought with them: moisture meters, heat loss readers, flashlights, and other necessary equipment to complete the inspection of mold. After his thorough inspection, he told me the situation was not the end of the world, and was definitely not close to $20,000 worth of remediation. He walked me through the process and explained to me that this current situation the home was in, was definitely not a reason to get out of the deal just because of a little bit of mold in the house. This really made my wife and I comfortable with completing our purchase. Once we got possession of the home (on a Friday), Steve had his team start the remediation on the following Tuesday. They brought all the necessary equipment (many air purifiers, dehumidifiers, fans, etc.), and completed the work within 2 business days. The home no longer smells like mold, it does however smell like detergent used (which is eco friendly and not harmful to people), this is a much better scent compared to what it was prior. Steve has promised me that once I get the home tested for mold, if the mold tests come back showing there are still some higher than acceptable levels of mold that he and his team will come back until the job is 100% complete and no more mold is present.

I would highly recommend Steve, Sam, Andre and the rest of their team at Restoration 1 to anyone who has any mold in their home and hes the common sense to have it removed for the good of their health, and the home.

I will comment/review once again should I need to have Restoration 1 come back to complete any secondary mold remediation (if the tests come back showing it still hasn't been completely removed), just to update everyone in case they are curious.

Restoration 1 removed damages, cleaned up the water, removed moulde, and dried the basement. They did an amazing job!!

We recently called Restoration1 after we experienced a relatively small flood in our basement. Although they were swamped (middle of a cold spell - pipes bursting all over the city), Steve was able to schedule us in right away. The technician, Sam, was there within an hour. He provided an initial assessment, and his crew was able to start the cleanup shortly thereafter. We were impressed with the level of professionalism that everyone (Steve, Sam, the crew) showed. The job was completed quickly, and we were pleasantly surprised when the final bill was less than expected. Thanks guys...hope I never need your services again though.

While I was traveling, a water pipe froze and burst. It flooded my main floor office and my downstairs (rental) apartment. Restoration1 were able to immediately come and help my university-student son deal with the mess. They moved furniture, boxed up bookshelves, pulled up floorboards/carpets and got the fans going to dry the rooms out. They were completely professional and wonderful to work with. Even though there were problems all across the city (there had been a multi-week deep freeze and pipes burst all over town), their prompt response meant we had no mould issues and no furniture damage. They billed the insurance company directly; completely painless... and a perfect setup for the repairs that followed. [Note... I don't even know the cost... it wasn't $1, but whatever it was, my insurance (less deductible) paid the shot.]

After coming home to basement flooded with sewage from a collapsed city main pipe and then getting over the shock, I called Restoration1 and was advised by Steve that he would be over to assess the damage as soon as he could, which was a few hours later.
The service I received from there on was nothing but professional and efficient and I really felt that my interest was utmost in this terrible situation. Steve walked through taking photo and moisture meter records throughout to assess before William and his crew arrived at 4:00. They started the process of removing baseboard, drywall, carpet and other contaminated material. Uncontaminated areas leading into the house were covered for protection and the skilled crew quickly and tidily got the heaters and dehumidifers going so that I could start to rebuild. Steve ever call the insurance company on my behalf to try to settle the matter with them.
The final invoice was beautifully itemize in great detail and with accompanying floor plan which is most helpful when presenting to either insurance or city of Toronto for settlement.

As a result of a roof leak, attic insulation was wet in one area, and the ceiling paint underneath had bubbled and cracked in several places. Steve and Derrick were recommended, and did a thorough evaluation of the situation. While scheduling was complicated a couple of times, everyone who worked on the project worked hard and did a solid job. The ceiling had to be cut open, the attic dried out, the wet insulation removed and replaced, and the ceiling patched, scraped and painted. Derrick met his time commitment, and the price was reasonable, especially appreciated since we were paying for it ourselves. You can't tell where a 4 foot by 4 foot hole was! Derrick and Steve were great to deal with.
