Move

I called Express Moving and received a phone call from Blue Ocean stating that they would be happy to give me a quote, the quote was for $850.00 which was not the cheapest I had received, but because the salesman called me personally I thought I would go with this company. Worst nightmare of my life! Not only was my furniture scratched or broken, but most of the boxes were crushed. My $2400.00 1 year old fridge is ruined! Dented and all the screws for the handles are missing, the prong on the cord is broken off, broken Bar B Q, dresser drawer broken. I think you all get the idea. It ended up costing me double of what they quoted me at. And I left out some of the heavier items that I was first quoted to include. NEVER TRUST this company! The insurance claim was suppose to be in November 2016, it is now the end of March 2017 have not heard back from them. I am in the process of taking them to small claims court! I hate that some companies try to take advantage of good people!!!

unprofessional ...!!!

On 10 December, 2016 I contacted one mover company with a request for a quote. I received immediate answer with an approximate estimate. Mr. Mark stated it takes 2-4 business days and so I trusted “Selective Movers” with my belongings. The moving date was set for 8 January. I was expecting the movers that day but they came January 9 late around 15: 07 which made loading last until late evening.

I was expecting the movers that day but they came January 9 late around 15: 07 which made loading last until late evening.

On January 10, I went to Blue Ocean office to scale the goods. One of the staff blamed me to wasting his time. I asked the Brain (Manager?) the delivery date. He stated I will call you tomorrow. After that I send many emails and made phone calls but I did not get any response. See attached emails for more details.

On January 27, I have paid total $ 1,230.16 but Financial Department have sent 5 different invoices which all are erroneous. See attached 5 invoices. I told her I won't pay unless you provide the delivery time. Regarding delivery, she gave me fraudulent information. (See attached email.) Moreover, Anthony’s a delivery guy ( owner of another mover company), who has over 20 years’ experience in the moving Industry stated I did not know ferry is not moving in winter so I will arrive around 8 PM. Around 6 PM, He send me a message “Delivery is 8am tomorrow I am having truck problem sorry”. On January 28, 7: 23 AM, he send me another message “ Im in charlottetown just trying to get some labor im by myself”. The reality is that a nice guy from Jamaica, is working with him.

Without asking question Anthony started to tell his fake story, while they arrived my house. In the beginning, he encouraged me take video but later he threatened me that do not visualize his face, I can call the police and not deliver your stuffs. From start to end, I have recorded two long video record as a proof.

After my belongings were unloaded I noticed that many items are missing, and there were things in them that were damages. Besides monetary losses due to damages, some of these items had sentimental value and are irreplaceable. During the unloading period, they asked me is this your stuffs? Is this your item? (I have video proof.) They are not sure which items belongs to whom. Unfortunately, they left two items which are not mine and left their 3 blankets intentionally. This is totally unprofessional and unacceptable, and I will not tolerate the situation like this.

Moving of Furniture and Effects

After I contacted Express Van Lines I received a call from Blue Ocean Moving and Storage Services indicating that they were contracted to complete my move from Windsor Ontario to Two Hills Alberta. I had paid the down payment and was informed that the movers would arrive with the transport truck between 4 and 5 pm on December 3rd 2016. Not only were the movers late 11pm at night, but there was only 2 men to complete the move; they arrived in a medium sized truck, not a transport truck. I was informed that my furniture and effects would be moved from this truck onto a transport truck the following day out of Toronto, Ontario and that I would receive my furniture and effects on December 16th at the address in Alberta. Not only did I not receive any of my furniture and effects on the promised date; they continued to make excuses for the delay in delivery. Finally on January 3rd a rental truck with two men showed up at my residence. The driver indicated that I was going to be quite upset with the condition of my property. He was correct. Boxes were opened, everything was either badly damaged, broken, or missing. I was devastated. My furniture is high end, and prior to this move, I instructed the movers to use fragile stickers/markings to indicate such. I had contacted the company to discuss compensation and was informed that they would send the required forms to be filled out. It has now been almost two months and several phone calls and I have received nothing from them. I am missing 4 large boxes, furniture, computer and additional items which have yet to be delivered. This company is horrible!

Fantastic work guys

My overall experience with Blue ocean was rather good. I am writing this review because I belive consumers should be aware of not only bad experiences with a company. I can't liie I read a couple of reviews and got really scared until my stuff was delivered. Blue ocean reached out to me with a quote that wasn't until realistic, however fair. I spoke with Matthew and he was really accommodating with all my inquiries. He even gave me a courtesy call after my goods were picked up to ask how it went. I had Mark, Jason, Sydney and Brandon pick up my stuff. They were all extremely respectfull and professional. The way that everything was wrapped & packed I was amazed. With it being my stuff I wouldn't have even wrapped half the stuff they did. My delivery was completed a few days later by the long distance drivers Mike & Sammy. I kinda feel bad because they had to wait around 6 hours until I was able to get the key but after that all went smothly. I would absolutely recommend this company.

They won't give back my stuff!

Company picked up my stuff in Montreal and was suppose to deliver in Vancouver within about one week. We drove across the country end of November and have been sitting on our empty condo without furniture for 3+ weeks. When we call the company sometimes they say our stuff in on a train or a truck broke down. They continue to make up stories and are unapologetic. Called the Police and we're hoping to track down our stuff. Now we're spending our Christmas in an empty house and wondering if we'll ever get it back...

Company Response

Good afternoon. I apologize if there was any confusion with regards to the delivery time frame, the average time to deliver from Montreal to Vancouver is approximately 10-12 business days, sometimes even longer during the winter season. We have a couple of different means with which to transport goods to the West coast, either by truck, or by rail. Sometimes we can make a mistake as to which method was conveyed to you on how we transported your goods, but it is in no way intentional if we by accident give the wrong method of transportation.

Terrible company

Took my deposit then stopped responding to emails and calls. After four emails and three calls I've given up on getting it back but may sue them. Awful company. Do not use them.

Montreal to Toronto Move

They damaged a brass bed footboard during my move from Montreal. The fellow who dropped it apologized for the mishap. It happened in the house before being put in the truck. When delivered in Toronto, it was suggested that I make note of the damage where my signature was on his copy of the receipt. I called Elly, who I had dealt with all along and she told me she would talk to her manager and get back to me. After not hearing, I asked how it was going. No response. It has been over a month now and I have not received any communication whatsoever.

Regarding the company reply to me below , another month has gone by and I still have not heard anything. There were other problems that I did not mention initially...1) Original pick-up date was changed without informing me,2) They arrived late on new pick-up date and I could not reach anybody on the weekend while waiting for the truck, 3) Dropped and damaged brass footboard in the house as described above. 4) Delivered the wrong load to Toronto address and had to wait for truck to go to back warehouse for ours. 5)Had to pay cash which was awkward not knowing exact amount to pay on delivery. Hopefully they take credit cards now. Positive: Guys worked hard; they were polite.

Good morning Laurie. I apologize, I wasn't aware that the claims department hadn't gotten back to you yet. The time frame for processing a claim is between 4-6 weeks, but I will ask them to expedite this matter for you. You should be hearing from them very shortly. Aside from the footboard, I hope that the remainder of your move was up to your expectations!!

Really Honest company

I was asked by the mover to write a honest review of how they did. This is my 4th cross country move and I gotta give yall the credit you deserve. Jared and Matt did my pick up and took care of my goods as if it were their own. A week later I got my stuff in Saskatoon out of my whole shipment the only thing damaged was a glass picture frame. Moving all the way from halifax you can expect something to go wrong. The estimate was also quite accurate. Dont go with the cheapest eastimate just because it looks good. Trust me ive learned the hard way. Id recomend this company anyday.

Verry good moving company

I recently got a job here in Vancouver and had to pack up and move from Pickering Ontario. I was so nervous and stressed with the whole move. I almost gave up and rented a uhaul truck and get my husband to drive it after hearing all the horror storys on moving companies. My realtor reffered me to this company so I took my chances and couldnt be more happy. A uhaul truck would have costed atleast $5000 I paid less then half the price and got professionals to do the job. My sales person Elly was verry accomadating & gave me packing tips. I would give this company more then a 10 if I could. The only issue I had with my move was the sofa wouldnt fit in my elavator and i couldnt ask them to carry it to the 21st floor. Keep up the good work guys!!
