When the technician's appointment was eventually finalized (after delays in October, and then in December ~ we were not available from mid-Oct to end of Nov), he showed up when the phone call indicated he would show up. He was very polite, and as far as we could tell, got the job done quickly and expertly. This rating is for ARS Services in particular, and not the constant delays and misdirected emails that were made by TASCO and LG HOME APPLIANCES in getting the appointment established. We would recommend ARS Services, but we would NOT recommend TASCO or LG HOME APPLIANCES (for servicing). The product is fantastic, but when it comes to setting up a repair of the appliance (thank goodness we chose the extended warranty, otherwise the cost would have been approx $600), it was a nightmare.

Needed a bed sofa sectional removed. It would be a heavy and awkward job for us non-professionals. Appointment was set up with efficiency and politeness. On the day of the job, a crew member phoned early to confirm the time; another call a bit later to update me that the crew was backed up and would be late with a small adjustment to the appt window; a final call to confirm arrival time. The crew showed up at EXACT time that was promised. A courteous introduction was made, and the two-man crew were in and out in less than 15 minutes. I have only good things to say about Ryan and Moni. My greatest thanks to them.

A few days ago, I received an advice letter from Whirlpool about a situation in my built-in oven that needed urgent attention. I called Whirlpool, who set up a timely appointment with North Durham Appliance. The repair person, Aaron, was timely, courteous, and professional. He called 30 minutes prior to arriving to pinpoint his exact time of arrival. Plus, he got the item tested, fixed and tested again to ensure its safety in future use. I will use this company again for any repairs of my household appliances. Thank you, Aaron.

Having used Adam and Bill on our back deck reno the previous year and being totally satisfied with the outcome, we had no hesitation to use them for our kitchen renovation. Of course, our idea grew before we actually signed the contract, but with the skilled team that they had, especially Bill as a master carpenter, we knew we were in good hands. Walls were knocked down, others built, total layout redesign, new flooring, total chaos for about 3 months, with a total job of about 5. Close attention was paid to small details. We were occasionally making changes to our original plans, which Adam and Bill graciously accommodated. Requests for touch up/follow up work were attended to in a very timely fashion. Adam dealt with the city re getting the appropriate approvals and inspections, and Bill made sure the design was exactly as we had envisioned, with both of them making change suggestions when they felt it was necessary. We are extremely pleased with the outcome, and would not hesitate to recommend them! A big big thanks to Adam, Bill and their team.

I am hoping that my story saves at least one person from falling into the trap that my family did. Briefly, I called who I thought was Rubaroc for a quote for my pool deck. When their rep did come she quoted approximately $4,800. I also inquired about my wooden deck (in the same backyard), she said it would be an additional $7,100. A total cost, including taxes, of $12,482. Being that this was back in late-June 2009, she suggested that if I paid all up front she would be able to save me the HST. I told her that I was off on a vacation the next day for 7 days, but, she said I had 10 days if I wanted to change my mind. While on the plane, I explained the situation to my Wife. She did not want the wooden deck work, just the pool deck work. On my return, I called the company to amend the contract, removing the upper deck work. Note: not CANCELLING, only CHANGING. Now comes the problem. I received no call back and had to return the call many times. When the call is returned, I am told that they could only refund an amount less a restocking charge as detailed on their contract because it took more than 10 days to get back to them. I am not sure what they were restocking, because even though promised, none of the materials had been delivered. Realizing this was the best offer I would get I agreed. So, then I waited for a refund in the $5,000-$6,000 area. During this period the pool deck work was done, installers were very nice and did a good job. However, time went on and many excuses made ... the boss was away in Europe, the cheque can not be found. Late in the fall, quite concerned, I was able to get in touch with senior management, he ensured me that the money would be returned. A week later he called and apologetically said that the President had decided not to return any refund. Long and short on this one: $4,700 worth of work done ... the charge $12,500. Be very careful. It seems that I was dealing with a company that I originally thought was Rubaroc, but turned out it was really Ontario Safety Surfacing. Who ever they are, they have my money and did not earn it. I would like the money owed to me back. By the way, small claims court ... forget it, lawyers tell me it is not worth their while.
