I reached out to Reliable Roofers (Dan) and they responded back within a day. I had contacted many other roofing companies as well. Many had some interesting quotes and prices (I had one quote me to do the whole roof for $24K) and some saying that's it's fine. When I asked about venting to others, they said to do the whirly birds and others said to do the solar vents. After some research, I settled on the Ventilation Maximum vents based on reviews, research and reliability. Dan was honest, trustworthy and had no preference as long as I was happy with what was installed. His price was fair, reasonable for the job that needed to be done (replace a portion of the lower roof beside a chimney that was affected by ice damage - January Icestorm). Installed the membrane, ice shield and shingles along with 2 vents. After confirming a date/time for the job, Dan and his team arrived early to get started. They kept the place clean, always were considerate of the debris and thankful for the nourishments (water/food) as it was a hot day while they worked. During their job, they found an area that needed venting (previous homeowner reno) and suggested to add a vent to allow the heat from the dryer to vent out to reduce the heat in that space. I agreed and was happy they were honest with informing me and keeping me in the loop. They shared pictures and were very forthcoming on any issues or concerns. Throughout the installation, they were amazing, hardworking and top quality in the rebuild. After they finished, the area was clean, no nails, no debris, and left the space as it was before they started. Happy and proud of their work, quality and work ethic. Thank you Dan and his team from Reliable Roofing for peace of mind, a person in the industry that I feel comfortable in recommending and advising to family and friends. Niall and his team was amazing. He came to give a quote and arrived earlier then said. I loved the important of sticking to a time and being prompt and punctual. He oversaw the chimney that was damaged from Ice Damage (since January) and did his review and necessary pictures and such. He said he'd provide a detailed quote via email later that night but explained to me what would need to be done and shared some photos. Later that evening, received the quote with a breakdown. I was happy that he again stuck to his word and followed through. Very reliable and dependable. Things that stand out when you have someone taking care of your home. BTW: I had asked two other companies for quotes (one had the same price but would have a later start date due to materials, and the other was almost double the price for the same work which begs to question why the overcharge??) I proceeded to book with Niall (NF Masonry) and he arrived on the scheduled date. Again, he arrived early (or on time) for set up of the scaffold and preparation for the demolition of the old top portion of the chimney and rebuild. BTW: I went with Niall as when I was confirming the job with him, he was on his way to the brickyard and if he found the bricks (forest something), then he'd pay his deposit and secure them for me. Honest, reliable and again, follow through!! They demo'd the chimney, did the rebuild and patched up some areas on the middle portion of the chimney. (kind of him to notice and do!!) No leaks after yesterday's rainstorm and peace of mind for me the homeowner. I'm proud to recommend him to anyone/everyone as well as someone that I can rely on in the future for any chimney needs or if people ask. He's one of those companies that you can trust, rely on and know that their word means something. Thank you Niall for taking care of our home!!

I had put up a post asking for a quote via Homestars and Jorge (Candor) replied saying he's interested. I loved that he was proactive in reaching out to me via phone as I was busy during the day to get back to him via Homestars. I inquired about price and the job based on the pictures I had shared and he provided me with a quote on the job. There was no "add ons" related to if something different comes up at the job site or what not. He knew by the pictures the issue and provided a time of when he'd arrive. He arrived early and he started measuring the torsion coils springs and knew that based on the ones I had, they weren't the standard ones and that he would come the next afternoon to replace the springs. He came early again and helped my neighbour out while I was on my way. This is exceptional service to help my neighbour. From my neighbour, Jorge was very straightforward, knew the job (garage door off the trac) and was very precise with time and quality/worksmanship. My neighbour was very thankful that he happened to work on my garage that afternoon. Jorge started working on replacing my torsion coils and took about 45 minutes. He was very polite, amicable and had his worker/colleague with him. They knew the job well and you can know and have a level of trust knowing that at the end of it, the job will be done and have peace of mind which is important for any homeowner. He finished the job and gave me recommendations that I'd need to oil the coils after 2 years based on the coils that were installed. He directed and recommended him to goto Cdn Tire or Home Depot to get garage door oil spray (not WD40) and spray it every 6 months or so, to maintain the coils. This advice and care made him stand out as he cared about his job, the customer (present moment and future) and building a relationship. I look forward to calling upon Jorge in the future for any future garage needs along with recommending him to any family, friends and neighbours.

I was highly pleased and have already recommended to family and friends about EcoComfort Insulation. After doing exhaustive research on various companies related to the GreenON list of contractors, I settled on EcoComfort. Many of the reasons are: their customer service, no sales pitches or treating me as a sale, how they spoke and treated me like they cared and to look for the best solution for my situation (Attic insulation and loss of heat), and above else...their Homestars Reviews. I had settled down to 3 companies and EcoComfort was top in all my areas. They were $1.2/sq foot compared to others, but what set EcoComfort apart was they installed baffels throughout which was included and pre/post inspection to make me feel comfortable and know what's happening. Wojtek and Patrick were great with handling the appointment and giving me an estimate of the job. They explained this was an estimate and they'll provide a more accurate measurement when they arrive (they are very busy because of the Energy Rebate and when word of mouth spreads of their great work and quality...it's worth the wait). The crew arrived, asked to take a look at the attic, measured outside and did a pre-inspection of the 2nd floor to see if any discolouration, any signs of damage or concerns before they inspect the attic. They noticed some gaps around the air stacks, which they fixed before they started and cleared out any small debris that was left in the past. They showed me the before the insulation and after. Wow...what a difference in the air temp there along with how it looked. They took their time and kept me up to speed on their progress. After completing, I took a look after they completed the attic insulation (R50 or R60 rating) and I was happy and satisfied with their level of work and quality. They vacuumed and cleaned up as it was before they arrived and wrapped up the paperwork for the rebate. The next day, received the invoice and was informed my paperwork has been submitted to GreenOn. A very happy, satisfied and well taken care of customer. Superb service, quality and customer service. I would highly recommend them compared to others as well as a tip for any future renovations or home stuff, always check HomeStars.
