I feel compelled to write a positive review for Mobilia in Markham (71 Cochrane Road). I purchased the bulk of the furniture for my condo from this location (two sofas, coffee and kitchen tables, bar stools, bed, and bedroom furniture). I probably should have done more research before closing the deal, but it wasn't until the day after I finalized the bulk of my purchase that I Googled this chain and this location. Imagine my horror when I saw all the negative reviews.
I immediately phoned the store and spoke with my salesperson (Ron Cairns - Ron gave his permission for his name to be used in this review). He was aware of the bad reputation other locations had and how it affected customer expectations of Mobilia Markham. He told me not to worry, that my delivery and setup would be handled expertly and that he would troubleshoot any problems. He takes great pride in making sure his customers are taken care of, and will personally address all issues instead of passing clients off to a call centre or to someone else. He understands the value of repeat business.
He was right. Absolutely, 100% right. He told me that after buying my furniture in the first week of September that I would receive it in the first week of October. There was no b.s., and he has played it straight with me the entire way. I received the furniture on time (I got a little paranoid and phoned him before the delivery people were due to phone me...the people I phoned at the delivery company used by both Mobilia and Thomasville sounded a bit confused to me...he chased them up and told me my furniture arrived in Montreal, on time, and that everything was going to plan). Setting up delivery was a breeze, and the guys who came in to deliver the goods did a great job building everything and cleaning up afterwards.
I am currently awaiting delivery of the bedroom furniture, which I was told at the time of purchase wouldn't get here until the end of November. I have no reason to worry that it won't happen, but I will keep you posted on how that goes. Ron and his general manager - Caesar Mak (sorry, hope I remembered the name correctly!) - have not dodged a single phone call, have not refused to make themselves available at any time, and have given a straight answer to every question I've had. I can't say enough good things about these guys, and I hate to see the bad rap they're getting because others (especially those at other locations) have screwed up.
I am happy to answer any questions anyone has. I have to thank the Homestars community for making so much information available to me, that it was time to give back. Thanks!
