A&E HVAC Solutions

We Hired A&E based on their knowledge, professional and timely quote, and salesmanship. Unfortunately, the work was not to the same standard. After our HRV control was broken on install and only found after the electrician had to move it, we noticed a number of other issues. Our Cold Air return count was 2 instead of the 3 quoted, the joints on almost all of the tin work was only sealed on the bottom part and not the tops, two of the exhaust pipes hung over an inch below drywall and had to be fixed so the diffusers sat flush on the ceiling, one of the cold air returns was set in studs that backed onto an unfinished wall that has the HRV mounted to it so there was no seal. Our furnace stopped working due to wiring in the HRV connections that was done wrong.

We give A&E a 5 total only for the fact that Andrew was really good to speak with and was prompt in getting the quotes out and addressing the broken controller. He was injured and on crutches when we asked him to come and look at the concerns. So in all fairness he couldn't climb a ladder so we give him the benefit of the doubt for the other issues missed. However, with all of the issues, and we haven't listed them all, we did not call them back a second time for repairs and decided to call a different company to come and complete the work.

Saturday morning during a cold snap a fire started in our furnace destroying the electrical. I was referred to A&E through a friend and not only did he have a technician on site before noon to assess he had a crew back that afternoon to install a brand new unit. Finished well after dark but we had heat for the night! Both Andrew and his crew were professional and courteous during a stressful situation. I would definitely recommend Andrew & A&E to anyone needing HVAC services.

Installation went well however they did NOT check their work and left an open gas valve. Only after a week of the whole family being ill and my daughter ending up being taken to hospital was fault noticed - which they then rectified.
I was NOT happy with their response of an apology and a free furnace clean! This could have had such a bad outcome, I am only pleased did some checks myself!

We hired this company to clean our furnace as we had recently had alot of drywall work done and wanted it well cleaned. The fellow that came out was pleasant but did not remove blower wheel and clean. Phoned company and they sent out another fellow who was very rude and initially because he was so rammy and in a bad mood I asked him to leave and just forget it. However he removed wheel and I cleaned myself in sink upstairs then took back down to him and he reinstalled. On the way out to his vehicle he hit his tool bag into our new front door and then into our down spout bending it around the corner (we bent it back). We were not impressed. The owner is fantastic to deal with - if you need a furnace would recommend 10/10 but cannot recommend for cleaning 6/10.

The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The girl that came to our door made sure that everyone in the household understood the produce and the services that were going to be provided. We were very impressed with the features of the alarm system.

We had gotten estimates from a number of larger heating and air conditioning companies, but the salesperson, and I believe owner of this company came to our house, and he was the only one who knowledgeable about the different options available and which one was the most appropriate for our house. The system was installed promptly, and professionally, and has kept us cool ever since. Our previous home had central air conditioning, but the system we had there could not keep up to the requirements of the home. The big thing that impressed me was that at no point did it feel like he was trying to sell us something that we did not need, unlike the other estimates we had gotten. They also had a wide variety of financing options which made it more affordable.

I called A&E HVAC after our furnace quit working in -25 C cold. They arrived by 2 PM the same day and replaced the old ignitor. Approximately 2 months later the new ignitor failed. I contacted A&E HVAC and they arrived within 2 hours. They replaced the faulty ignitor free of charge, no questions asked. I would not hesitate to call them for any future service.
