Was directed to this company via the Sears Appliance call center to fix our Kenmore Dryer. We were given an appointment date and were told to expect a call the night before confirming that the appointment time window. We received this call and fully expected to have the technician show up the next day.
The following day no technician - a call to Southland and we were told the earliest they could come was in about 5 days. A full 2 weeks after the initial call was place with Sears.
The technician showed up late and worked on the dryer for about an hour replaced a part and claimed the problem was fixed.
The next day we noticed a part of the dryer sitting on the floor that had not be put back together. But the dryer appeared to be working fine. A few days later and the error code showed up again. Unimpressed with our experience with Southland we called another company directly and had a tech out within 3 business days. He opened up the dryer and found a number of screws sitting on the bottom of the dryer that had not be put back by the Southland tech.
Further, he tested the part that was deemed faulty by Southland and showed us that it was in fact fully operational and the problem was in fact related to another part. Not only did this tech fix the dryer but he resolved the mess left by Southland and for less money.
Southland needs to seriously improve their response time and competency of their staff.
The funny part is that the Southland tech asked for water and was offered a glass of water to which he gave my wife a disgusted look and suggested that perhaps he could get a bottle of water to take with him.
