My neighbours flower boxes and landscaping was over the top so I had them trash my old deck and shed because critters were living below. They built a new fence NOBODY else has, a top of the line patio and base for my new shed which they will build tomorrow. They critter proofed the periphery of my home and water proofed it too. I love the results. They are the hardest working team I have ever seen.

Jin has solved my tree problems for three years now. By the time others would ever show up for a quote, this crew has done the work beyond any expectation. Ive had so many projects completed. His prices cannot be beat and the service and professionalism are second to none. Jin is a tree climber, comfortable among the branches as we are on the ground. I dont believe anyone else could even attempt the work that he does. They are special, great people.

Sara designed a mud room for us that exceeded any expectations. The closets are deep and filled with shelves at the bottom, and tons of hanging space above. The quality of material is excellent. The doors close slowly. Installation only took one day. The fact that the floor is not level did not matter. I received three quotes and this one was not only the best, the workmanship and details included were far better. The company really cares about customer satisfaction and went the added distance to change certain features after installation too. They make sure it is 100% done perfectly.

Our kitchen is beautiful and has lasted a decade now. The cabinets are strong and beautiful - French Provincial style. I think the kitchen is timeless and of absolute high quality.

My neighbour was so happy with how they cleaned her windows, so hired them to clean the eavestrough, which were really needing to be cleaned. They did a great job. It took about 45 minutes for three guys. They even replaced screws that the roofers had used last year that were too long and blocking the downspouts. When a downspout is blocked, they remove it, clean it and fix it back. Next year I will have them replace some of them with a better product.

Nice, hard-working people. Beautiful results. It's only been about half a year since we installed the roof. Many neighbours stopped by and told us how nice it looks. The roof certainly took longer to install than we thought. The person that installed a skylight we understand is no longer installing skylights, which is a good thing. Otherwise, all I can say is that I love the results and hope that it lasts as long as they say, and if there are issues, that they service them. One fellow on the team deserves extra mention - his name is Matt - he was truly terrific, making sure every inch was cleaned up and we were happy.

Two skylights were installed with no regard to what anything looked liked from the inside of the house. These two guys worked like maniacs to patch, plaster, prime, repair and paint until the wells looked flush and perfect. It was a difficult job since one skylight was 24 feet above ground, and the wooden frame, made from 2 x 6 cheap wood was not even square nor even. Great job and done in one day!!

INTO supplied and installed high definition security cameras for my new home. The picture is crystal-clear in real time, and I can view them on my smart phone. Even at night, I can see the perimeter of my home so well. This is better than any other type of security to my mind.

My puppy's half sister, Mushka, came over as usual (toy poodles). The dogs chase each other up and down the stairs and everywhere. While I wasn't looking, Mushka chewed up a big piece of the carpet on the stairs. These guys fixed it as if nothing had ever happened, and the repair is durable. Hope it doesn't happen to you, but if it does, call them.

I installed two tankless water heater at two locations, plus one Trane furnace 2009/2010. Soon after the furnace was installed, we smelled gas, and called them back. They said it was the line from the house to the supply, and charged us for that diagnostic. We immediately had that line replaced. For 3 years we've put up with the smell of gas until recently - an expert fixed the problem - they had used plumbing equipment which leaked, rather than the right stuff. We also had the outlets for the tankless corrected, since they were not to code either. UNBELIEVABLE!!! I still recall the fellow that installed it smoking cigarettes and butting them out on the floor below the furnace. That's why there is HOMESTARS.

I bought a beautiful home that has more awnings than you would believe. In summer they provided much protection from the sun and even the rain. They are all types. After the big wind storm yesterday, I called Pike's up to request they take down for winter some of the awnings. They were out here within a couple of hours. I didn't even need to be home, because they storage the awnings until Spring. What great service, and so pleasant too. I'm impressed.

Every year I hire these guys. Once I hired a fellow that advertised by nailing a paper to a post. That guy showed up on a bike with a ladder on his shoulder and put my hose into the downspouts. White shark is professional, and cheaper that their competition. They do a great job and collect all the leaves in a bag for you to see.

Two very polite young men arrived and worked diligently for an entire morning in my new 4000 sq. ft. home. It turns out the air quality is better in my home than outside, which is nice to know. Apart from finding 27 year old beer cans in the vents, it was uneventful, but I'm happy I did it, and happy with the service.

The shed looks fine. The windows can be propped open in summer to cool the shed. I had to pay someone else to prepare the land below it, which had vines on it beforehand. Also, I painted the floor and exterior, since it came primed. I know that sales of prefab. plastic ones are flying out the door, but I preferred one that is more substantial. It's just the cost is so much more, I'm not sure if it was the right decision. So far it's quite OK.

This was the best idea - the location was easy and I was able to access the storage unit any time during the day, which I did. I was able to storage my house contents inexpensively in a temp. controlled environment. Diane was in her office always cheerful and helpful. I don't move in one shot - I bring things or remove things gradually. It's no problem at this location, and it's a lot cheaper than other storage facilities that advertise everywhere too.

I was so impressed with Alex's helpfulness, honesty and professionalism, that I've called him half a dozen times in the last year. Each and every time, he does more than you ask. He not only has cleared junk for me, he prepared land for me to build a shed, he's cut trees, built trenches for weeping tiles, and even moved me into and out of storage units. He's the BEST!

Doug built a fabulous fence for me. It was difficult because it was on an incline, near a ravine. Next Spring I have another fence I will ask him to build. Doug usually does golf courses and commercial work, so I was very fortunate to get him to do my fence. I'd recommend him above and beyond anyone else!

I needed to improve the garden since it was going for sale. The hedge had been ignored for too long, it was simply to tall for me to trim. The grass needed to be resodded and parts reseeded. The men did it all in the time they needed to, even though, they did arrive late. It was worth the wait.

They did a great job of the hallway and the difficult to paint area around the skylight, that had condensation problems. The ice blue child's room was also great. The only issue is that there was confusion regarding the white colour of the baseboards. They looked sterile white, so I had to redo them. Warren is a super guy and he goes out of his way to accommodate your schedule, plus he's super honest so there isn't any issue about him working in your house when you're not there.

Unbelievable service! Ari came the same day and installed a complicated one piece toilet that I purchased from Costco. I can't believe it actually, because I paid $400 to the top-rated guy in this catergory only two years ago to replace the parts of the last one. It makes me angry that I did that, but I didn't know better. Sometimes we are happy when the job gets done even if we don't know the relative price and quality. Levstein & Stern deliver both. Honest plumbers - now there's a refreshing discorvery!

I would give Tarek a score of 20 if I could. I called up another very large company with over 100 pictures of railings in their gallery and they quoted me 3x the price, with a 6 week lead time. Tarek did the whole project in one week. He modified the existing railing and built new railing that is so beautiful. It all matches the ones I have on my windows and the French pattern I like. Also, he didn't cause any damage to my new concrete aggregate, even though his competitor suggested to me that would likely happen. If only all workmen delivered this level of quality and service!!!

The men were extremely courteous and the drain will hopefully prevent overflow from our neighbour. Although initially I was told the job would be at least 2-3 days, the work was done by two men in less than a day. Now I've had the exact same work done on the other side of the property for $600. How does that make me feel? These guys can laugh all the way to the bank. Chalk it up for a very expensive lesson.

Sylvio has different teams doing specialities; so you can see the results in the photos. I visited previous jobs he did that were 9 years old and they remain beautiful too. This was a HUGE project. I researched it and no one came even close to the price. All my neighbours, and ones I don't even know stop me to tell me how beautiful it is. My driveway was narrow before with no space to park. Take a look! I'm thrilled.

The stonework at the back of my home collapsed, and I had big concerns of water flow as I'm down hill from a bunch of neighbours. They built two very attractive walls, one very long and deep. The work was difficult because it was below a deck. Soon they will return to refill the cement into the pillars that support the deck. They have the knowledge about how to build the right way. It took a long time but it was well worth the wait. They're very professional.

Fred gave me a deal on a 5 cubic Samsung washer and dryer (Samsung makes Kenmore). I bought the top of the line at a fraction of the cost that you could find anywhere else. I've bought all my appliances there to outfit two homes, and each time I need something I do my research first, and am amazed at their pricing and service.

By far the best contractors I have worked with from the 12 reviews I've listed thus far. They started when they said they would, they finished when they said they would, and the house looks like a new house. My Mother lowered her thermostat by four degrees. She says even the basement, which is below ground feels warmer. The house is totally sound proof now as well, which is good thing considering all the construction going on next door. Sean gave us the lowest price quote and yet offered the most. He parged areas just to make it more beautiful. He is an awesome professional - HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!!! Look at the pictures of this 60 year house for yourself.

George and his staff were fantanstic. They were there first thing on Tues. morning and went through hoops to get the parts. The Navien company in the US was not cooperative and did not agree to providing the two parts at the same time, even though the computer diagnosis indicated it was necessary. Spring Home worked many long hours and made two trips out to Mississauga, (from our home in North York) to do what was necessary, yet didn't charge me for it because they didn't thing that was reasonable. I picked them because I thought they sounded more reasonable that other companies, and I found out it was true. They are terrific and I would highly recommend them to everyone.

I have researched and contacted many, many HVAC installers. I installed HVAC at another home last year and in this house only 3 short years ago. I wasn't sure a new system would solve my issues of a noisy (clanging) furnace and not getting cold A/C air up to the second floor. Other "experts" told me it was my ducts, that I couldn't change the air pressure in the home, all sorts of excuses. Most furnaces wouldn't fit into the tiny space allocated in this 15 year old home. I guess this job was too challenging for the other HVAC companies highlighted at Homestars. One of the first things they noticed was that my tankless water heater installed a year ago wasn't to code and needed to be remedied; they did this for me too. As it happens, I was already emailing back and forth with Dave a year ago regarding my issues and the causes; he teaches HVAC. Well, I have the best system: it's silent, it's cold upstairs, and I will look forward to silent and warm winters. Rob is the most professional guy out there, and believe me I know because I've spoken to a list of them. I've attached photos of Arthur and Andrew completing the work in the tiny space that others declined.

Alec's guys built me a fabulous deck, according to the permits I had. It has transformed my living space. The deck has a privacy screen(wall) on the East side so that I don't have to see my nauseating neighbours - that's truly worth a LOT. You can't pick your neighbours but you should pick Alec for a deck, and wait until he has time... because his timelines take a long time. It's worth the wait!

My Amana refrigerator stopped working... Maurice put new parts in for about $200, but it didn't work. The next day he returned, removed the parts he used and returned the entire money to me. I needed a new fridge. How many repairmen would do that??!! My friends and family all use him, he's wonderful (does air conditioners and small plumbing jobs too).

Based on a recommendation from a terrific guy that does eavestroughs, I heard about Carey and Jackson Roofing. Three specialists did the roof in less than three days - and left the entire space spotless. One can see that they know what they are doing by simply comparing how they work to others in the neighbourhood. It rained in the evenings but they did the roof in stages. They can point out the mistakes that are made on everyone else's roof. Great job and looks terrific for a very reasonable price.

Knowing I have trouble-makers for neighbours, I knew I had to get a proper permit. I went to the Home Show and found Sam. He had plans drawn up for me within a week, told me where to go in City Hall and who to speak to, and provided on-going support. They obviously know him, respect him, and like working with him. I do too. I highly recommend Sam Pasquale for any and all projects.

Love the windows and there is not moisture on them - compared to the old ones(which are only 15 years old). Not sure about the self cleaning aspect though? I don't need to paint anymore which is great! The doors open and close super smoothly. The windows are not cheap but they sure look great from the inside and out. Ken, the salesperson, is first class.

I went along with what Rick suggested and am so happy with this big Amana, which is so powerful and quiet and looks great. The men that came even installed a new thermostat for me (no-charge) just being nice. I received the best value and service. Initially the eco auditor had me believe it wasn't high efficiency enough and I fretted, but it was the Eco auditor that was messed up. GTA did a great job. (regret not buying my furnace and tankless water heater from them too!)

I have always bought all my appliances there but this year my 13 year old Amana fridge died. I went there to buy a new one and was impressed that the fellow was able to match and give a lower price for me. Once the fridge arrived it turned out the seals were leaking. Within one hour of my phone call, someone came over, fixed it all up and I was very happy.

The service was first class. The prices for the drapery and sheers were extremely attractive and the results were awesome. They make the room and the house. SPECTACULAR. The only suggestion is that if you are a perfectionist, don't go for the shutters. They are very expensive and somewhat imperfect. All the same, the drapes are the most beautiful anywhere, and we travelled everywhere for a year looking.

Pavel built a drop ceiling, new walls, added insulation, added electrical and lighting fixtures, etc. We interviewed a few people and were happy we went with Pavel. I was under pressure to get a home ready for my Mother to move into. Even after she arrived Pavel and crew continued on the myriad projects involved with a 60 year old home.

Big mistake! My furnace wasn't working, had problems with the ignitor every other year but my regular guy was too sick to help out. Looked up Soft Breeze in the yellow pages. First he needed cash to get one piece, then more cash for another piece...He kept running out to help other customers and I was at the bottom of his pecking order. Finally it cost me loads but at the end, my furnace was totally destroyed and I needed to buy a whole new one! Wow! You can bet I didn't purchase it from them.

Built a large skylight in dark kitchen for my Mother that suffers from Wet Macular Degeneration (she's going blind). Organized it when she wasn't around. Patrick was so kind and professional, clean, honest, all together super.... even my Mom was thrilled. (This is a first!) He is truly a great guy that went way out of his way to ensure she was happy.
