M&R Roofing

M&R took all the shingles off & reshingled our 2 rental houses in less than 2 days. Everything was cleaned up & taken away. They were quick giving us the estimate, & emailed it to us with pictures to show the condition of the roofs. Previously M&R had done the house we live in. They took off 2 layers of shingles & also the original slate shingles. They showed us samples of the shingles, & discussed quality & colours. We are very pleased with their work.

Wanted to commend the workers for doing an excellent job. They started early in the morning and worked throughout the entire day stopping only for a lunch break. Did an awesome job cleaning up the place and ensured all debris was removed before leaving each day. Friendly and courteous workers. Would totally recommend hiring them.

We have a flat roof on the rear of our house with a 25 year old rooftop deck on top. The deck was in dire need of replacement, and although the roof underneath was not leaking, it was due for replacement as well. We searched for a company that specialized in both flat roofs and rooftop decks, and quickly found M&R had many examples of both on their website. We contacted the company, and a few days later Maciej came to assess the job. He quickly ascertained what needed to be done, and pointed out some issues with our existing roof that we should consider correcting. We asked for an estimate, and a week or two later we were given a multi-page estimate including detailed specifications for the replacement roof and deck materials, as well as their construction. As an engineer, I appreciated the effort that was put into documenting the details. Maciej explained that because our roof wasn't leaking, the job would be scheduled for later in the fall, which helped in managing our expectations. A few days before the job started in October, we were first provided a detailed work order to review and confirm, along with a list of questions to answer to ensure the job would go smoothly. On the day the job started, the old deck and roof were quickly removed, with care taken to protect our neighbour's property, and the new roof installed the same day. A few days later the replacement deck was built, and it exceeded our expectations in terms of build quality. The new deck was substantially better and stronger than the deck it replaced. In talking to the crew, it was apparent they knew what they were doing, and were taking care to make the finished product last another 25 years, if not longer. We probably won't need a roof replacement job for another few decades, but we'd recommend M&R to anyone else that needs a flat roof and rooftop deck replacement.

We were searching for a roofing company for over a year, acquiring several quotes during this process. Summertime came and we noticed the company's signage. They had just finished working at a nearby place so we thought we'd called for a quote and the rest is history. Ultimately, my husband and I were impressed by their professionalism. Maciej's professionalism as well as that of his team is commendable. The contract had to be negotiated not only by long distance but also on behalf of my elderly Mom. Both items were readily addressed. The quote was thorough and included all accreditation. M&R's team was very respectful while on site, resulting in my Mom being at ease. M&R installed a new shingle roof on our (largish) house and garage in October. The work included stripping off the old shingle roofing and the installation of new underlayment, shingles, flashing materials and roof vents. M&R impressed us at both the quote stage and with their actual work. Maciej promptly made (and kept) an appointment to inspect our roof, discussed the proposed scope of work with me on site, and made helpful suggestions regarding materials and work scope. He also addressed my specific requests and questions about his subsequent quote in a prompt and professional manner. The terms of the quote were clear and the price was reasonable for the scope of work involved. M&R's crew showed up to do the work when we were told they would. They were polite and tidy and did a good job on our house. The roof looks good. I had learned of M&R and decided to include them as one of the firms invited to give a quote after having been favourably impressed by their workmanship on other houses they have done in our neighourbood over the previous two years.

I thought the entire process in dealing with Maciej K. and his team was superb. From being there to inspect the necessary work 48 hours after I called, to a complete and very detailed quote shortly after that. The team that arrived to do the work was very professional, and after they left you would not know we had just had the roof done. There was no mess and no damage to the gardens. This is quite the feat in a cramped downtown property. The final invoice was exactly as quoted.
I would strongly recommend M&R to any friends and family. They would have received a perfect 10 except for one little detail. They are obviously so good at what they do, they are very busy. It took two months from the time of initial contact to having the work completed. This has now put pressure on the painters who now have to find warm and dry fall days to do their exterior work. Obviously, Maciej has to find more skilled teams!
